@cicerone imposter,
Somehow I missed exactly what these photos are. Anyone got a link?

When the Panzers rolled in, Germans in France were outnumbered by Frenchman by over 100 to 1.

So much for big numbers, eh?

If the Frogs had even one Churchill, things could have been a lot different, ya know?

@McGentrix,
Quote:
According to Politico, each trip's estimated $3 million price tag is based on a similar four-day trip that Obama took in February 2013.

And if Obama (or anyone else) did such a trip 3 times in a month then the cost would be 3 times as great. You didn't get that relevant aspect of the arithmetic?

And that isn't to mention the other unprecedented costs (noted in the WP piece linked by Walter this morning) arising from the kids business trips and from the costs of guarding Trump Tower in NYC.

The photographs of board AF1 was a cheap shot. But if that behavior is continued, then it would not be. It would tell us something important about his narcissism and gender roles.

Your use of "fake news" is unthinking.

I'm pretty sure many of us saw what hightor saw in those pictures. It proves once again that Trump has no respect for women.

As I just noted to McG, two photos by themselves is too anecodtal to prove a point. But if what we see in the two photos is duplicated over and over, then what the photos suggest would be verified and significant.

Al's "standard of proof" is along the lines of: "I dare you to try to give me absolute proof that what I say aint right. I'll be the judge, here, so just TRY to convince me otherwise."

@saab,
Thank you very much. There are a lot of people up here in my town and friends spread around BC who know I study US politics who keep cornering me and asking some variant of "What the **** is going on down there? Is Trump for real? People actually support him?" etc. Izzy gives us similar feedback from England, Walter from Germany, and a few others from abroad as well.

The fellow is not helping the image of America and that is going to have inevitable negative consequences for the US.

Thanks. Best link on Trump-incurred costs I've seen yet.

Gouging taxpayers to this ridiculous degree means, of course, that he's smart.

Did you actually read it? You are saying that is the BEST LINK you've seen? I read it and noticed that it was all speculation and guesses based on previous expenditures and hearsay.

Yeah, you believe anything that is opposed to Trump. You're so full of the Kool-aid your piss is probably blue.

When it comes to cutthroat competition, "image" don't mean ****.

Well, unless maybe the image you're seeing is the business end of a sawed-off shotgun, ya know?

Oh, I see, so you look at a single picture or maybe 2 and then you can make a judgement about people.

There you go! You can read what other people say about the pictures, too. You can find pictures which tell the opposite story. You can even take pictures of your own. You can actually think as you wish and come up with your own conclusions. Sometimes having someone provide more context is helpful when you've missed out on parts of the conversation so you don't open your mouth too soon and say something which shows that you don't know what you're talking about.

It was better before the era of photoshop though.

No, he's Canadian. The most it would be is a dark maple syrup and a Tim Horton's espresso.

Sadiq Khan, eh?
Who's that? Is he from Liverpool?

Is he that loudmouth Muslim guy who bellowed a bunch of lies about Trump during the Democratic convention (and then the Left/media threw a huge temper tantrum when Trump calmly said that the guy was wrong)?

Way back on Friday, President Trump declared that several news organizations — ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, The New York Times — were “the enemy of the American people.” You know who’s not the enemy, in his book?

Alex Jones.

NYT

Hee-hee — as ol' Rush likes to say, "You can't make this stuff up!"

First I heard of Alex Jones was on the old Abuzz — there was a Texas woman there who went by the name "mcbean" and she used to describe his rants and the occasional instances when he actually made some sort of sense.

This will work some welcome damage on rising right wing media troll Yiannopoulos.
Quote:
The American Conservative Union disinvited Breitbart editor and lifetime Twitter exile Milo Yiannopoulos on Monday from speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference over past comments he made "condoning pedophilia."

...Yiannopoulos is a figurehead of the so-called "alt-right" white nationalist movement. He was permanently banned from Twitter for leading a targeted harassment campaign against black actress Leslie Jones.
TPM
We'll note first off that the video on question was released by a right wing organization, The Reagan Batallion.

CPAC clearly had no option here because of the subject and context. Yiannopoulos is already claim "edited video" and a version of "don't trust your lying eyes". As this incredible jerk was on a rising media trajectory, this event is going to work real damage on his abilities to monetize his trolling. Such a pity. It's going to be interesting to see how Breitbart tries to spin this one (not a peep I can find right now).

@hightor,
Yeah, even I take Alex Jones with a grain of salt, but I'm betting that this story doesn't make the newspaper version of the NYT? Am I wrong about that?

Or, is this the hard hitting, investigative reporting that has made the NYT the newspaper of record?
