@bobsal u1553115,
I put it on ignore once it started spouting transphobic bigotry.

That was a long time ago.

I don't want to spin him. I take him literally at his word. I'm still waiting for his beautiful healthcare plan. I'm still waiting for his promised respirators, masks, gloves, tests etc. They months past the deadline he made. It seems like like his son in law is gathering them up to corner the market. Somebody needs to tell the President his family is breaking his promises.

You spin on why I shouldn't take him at his word.

I don't personally care that much what he says because I'm a republican, meaning I don't see the president as an elected king the way Democrats seem to. To me he is just an example of a citizen who exercises his rights, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc. and thus sets an example of how to be a citizen of a republic in a democracy.

In my eyes the problem is the minion culture of people who orient toward the president as a king/fuhrer. The president may see himself as a king/fuhrer or not, but either way the problem is the people who view/treat him like one. In a republic it's every individual's responsibility to view their own liberty as the thing that they are responsible for and as the power of self-governance. The president is just there to preside over the republic determined by our individual liberty.

Is that supposed to make it better that you're shunning someone else?

Am I supposed to condone shunning and bullying as long as I'm not the target?

@izzythepush,
We got flour. It was a bit tough a month ago but it made me try different types and producers. I've always used good whole white wheat, but I've found good corn meal, and some alternate flours I like. The expensive stuff in small bags are always there. Yeast is what is a tough find, but I'm trying other sources of leavening. I did find some sour dough starter but its a several day process and we have a "galley" kitchen that is literally too small for the both of us to work in.

Now that we aren't doing restaurants we are eating better and in smaller portions. The TV is off for days though we do go onto BritBox and Amazon to watch good stuff. I found out my wife does like Black Adder and we are listening to a lot of old radio programs on internet. We even found some old "Goons" stuff.

We get along good and while we'd like to break quarantine, we manage to get by with one foray a week (fresh veg), or two every three weeks. The exceptions were for two medical appointments at the veteran's.

Been reading a lot, too. Thanks for the materials you provided. Nothing critical to find in them. A very interesting/unusual mix.

One of the reasons I don’t talk to them is because it’s impossible to be honest without breaking conditions of service.

@livinglava,
Am I supposed to sustain abuse under the false assumption it represents free speech on a forum that doesn't allow abuse in its ToS?

Absolute free speech is not what the founding fathers guaranteed, either. What they created was a free market of ideas and speech so that unpopular or criminal speech could be freely tossed to the side and ignored.

Funny how all you"patriots" abridge my natural rights just to foist false impressions of what the Bill of Rights include and doesn't.

If that offends you, truth hurts, doesn't it?

You support their right to insult and lie but not my right to wear a mask. Think about THAT for a minute, and then think about how in your world view hacking in my face is somehow their right, but my right to the pursuit happiness (by wearing a mask) doesn't include public safety or health.

I don't have to buy what a load of crap they're selling just because they have the right to try to foist it on me. If I smell rotten fish I don't have to eat it to honor their right to sell it. How do you feel about lies in relationship to freedom of speech?

Texas Knows How to Handle Armed Protesters
https://dfw.cbslocal.com/2020/05/07/arrests-swat-team-armed-protesters-texas-bar-owner-reopens/

In Odessa, TX, a woman who owns a bar decided to "OPEN" in the face of a prohibition of bars being open in that state. Apparently, her decision inspired a group of gun-toters to show up and support her decision by parading around in their "tactical" gear and carrying their firearms.

Not so fast, boys! Someone called the cops, and the SWAT team showed up. They're armed, too, apparently. They gave the order, and the Proud Boys doing the protesting laid down their arms and put their hands behind their backs to be arrested. They apparently weren't in the mood for a shootout with a SWAT team.

You can see a video of this at the link above.

It seems to me that the approach taken by the police in that town is the appropriate one for such armed protesters who are protesting protective measure to limit the spread of COVID-19. The overgrown boys doing the protesting don't really seem to be that committed to their cause.

Just send out the SWAT team and let them disarm the morons and arrest them for whatever laws they're breaking. Some are probably convicted felons who aren't even allowed to possess firearms. Do this in a few cases and publicize it, and maybe the Proud Boys will reconsider their protests. They don't appear to really be brave men with guns. They don't really appear to be much of anything but a rabble in the first place.

That'd be great!

No, you have not even come close. The charges against her were dropped that means she has no criminal record just like Flynn. And you try to debunk sources not the facts they relate.
