That is incorrect. He did not say anything about any supposed measures to prevent the bad guy from having a gun.

What Bloomberg said outright is that those victims should not have been allowed to carry guns to defend themselves with.

Bloomberg wanted those churchgoers to be helplessly slaughtered while they were waiting for the police to show up.

Bloomberg is like most progressives. Progressives do not care about saving lives. Progressives merely think that it is fun to violate people's civil liberties.

I do not know if he would want that to happen but he should be smart enough to realize it would have happened.

Here's what he said:

It may be true that someone in the congregation had his own gun and killed the person who murdered two other people. But it’s the job of law enforcement to have guns and to decide when to shoot. You just do not want the average citizen carrying a gun in a crowded place.”

What he said was what he said. There is nothing ambiguous about it.

Proof that Trump is a liar is the 7000 or so lies he has told. And proof of the gullibility of republicans is that they believe each and every lie he spouts.

Many surely do. But I suspect that many more know he lies with regularity on some things but do not care (various justifications used). Others applaud this behavior because it matches a history of right wing voices (eg Coulter) who have made millions with rhetoric designed to "own the libs".

We have to confront the fact that the Republican party now commonly operates as a trolling operation.

As I've been pointing out for many years, election finance reform has a very significant impediment... the profits that big media conglomerates (and even smaller local news entities) stand to garner in every election. It is, in itself, a form of corruption. And it is a dynamic that pushes in the direction of more billionaires running in the future.

TV EXECUTIVES CELEBRATE UNPRECEDENTED FLOOD OF BLOOMBERG CAMPAIGN SPENDING

FOX NEWS HOSTS regularly bash former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg as a globalist demagogue intent on seizing Americans’ firearms and big gulp sodas. High-level executives at the company, however, are much more enthusiastic about the billionaire politician and Democratic presidential candidate.

Lachlan Murdoch, the chief executive of Fox Corp., the parent company of Fox News, is one of several media executives to welcome Bloomberg’s unprecedented spending spree on television advertisements. In a February 5 briefing for investors, Murdoch noted that he had heard “the Bloomberg campaign has expected to sort of double its advertising spend earlier this week.” The billionaire’s campaign, Murdoch noted, makes purchases on a week-to-week basis, making it difficult to project the ultimate benefit for his company.

“But obviously,” he added, “we expect it to be very strong and particularly, as I mentioned, in the markets of our local TV stations.”

Trolling Democrats? Whatever for? Democrats are self-trolling.

Or classrooms.

Not anything like a singular or unusual occurrence. Attempts by DeVos and others on the right to replace the educational system with for-profit enterprises has been marked by such typical right wing grift. But it has two other goals in mind as well besides shifting big big money to predatory entities:

1) reduce or eliminate the influence of teachers' unions in US politics
2) information control via Christian-influenced curricula (a big thing for DeVos)

@MontereyJack,
Wrong again. That is a progressive clearly saying that people should be unarmed and defenseless when people try to massacre them.

Progressives don't care about saving lives. For progressives, it is all about the joy of violating people's civil liberties.

You of course cannot provide any examples of me ever claiming that an opinion is fact.

@MontereyJack,
Bloomberg's last sentence says that he wants people to be unarmed and defenseless when someone tries to massacre them.

He is a typical progressive. Saving lives does not matter to him. All he wants to do is violate people's civil liberties.

I've pegged him for your classic neoliberal one percenter arsehole.

He wants an unarmed populace, so the NWO junta has no resistance in the plebs when they decide they're going to thin out the herd to a more manageable size.

"A healthy middle class will require affordable health insurance."

Okay...

Trump says he is working on it. Being he has kept promises, I am going to trust him on this.

Okay...but there's this:

President Trump planning massive, double-digit tax cut for middle-class American families.

So he's going to keep increasing military spending, as well as offer a new social program to provide affordable health coverage — and he's going to cut taxes. How's he going to fund this great new healthcare plan that he's supposedly "working on" — by slashing Medicare and Social Security?

That is, of course, twice the total population of the US.

It's important to the right wing to destroy public service media. Whether it will succeed in the UK, I do not know. For now let us contemplate why this is such a priority for them globally. https://theguardian.com/media/2020/feb/16/no-10-launches-attack-on-bbc-as-licence-fee-comes-under-threat
