Not that there is any reason to think that Mr. Trump did anything wrong, but even if he had actually committed some terrible wrongdoing, the precedent that the Democrats set with Bill Clinton would had justified not convicting Mr. Trump of anything.

The Senate is not a place for progressive witch hunters to go on fishing expeditions. If the House didn't have all their evidence gathered, then they should have kept gathering evidence instead of impeaching.
