We love our football here. Real football, and no helmets.

It's action from start to finish, and very little time for any advertising.

@oralloy,
Way too much Isaac Asimov's Foundation, way too little statistics in your forecast. trump's had four years of his base aging and dying and being replaced by by four years of angry young millennials who despise him. and the 50-43 split is somewhat more than twice as wide as the gap between Dismal Donny and HRC that he was able to bridge with the EC vote, And that margin has held steady for three years. Not too bright for your orange beach ball.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) disapprove.

@MontereyJack,
We'll see.

And now that you mention it, I should reread the Foundation Trilogy. Or maybe the Robot short stories and early novels. I could use an Asimov fix.

Probably not tonight though. Early day tomorrow.

@Builder,
Rasmussen's methodology has a well,-known and well-documented republican bias. Unless they've changed their methodology, and they hadn't the last time I looked at them. their respondents were on land lines, but an increasing number of americans no longer use land lines. Land line users are strongly older and less flexibe or amenable to new technology, while the people who;;ve given them up tend to be younger, more hip for want of a better word, and less rigid and locked in.. (And of course by now everyone has a cell phone too, but if you're only drawing your respondents from people with land lines that ,makes no difference.)

@MontereyJack,
The voters also have a well-known and well-documented Republican bias. The end result is accurate polling by Rasmussen.

@oralloy,
Really? Is that why trump got fewer votes than Clinton and why he lost the house in 2016? And why there are consistently more registered dems than gop?

@MontereyJack,
The voters will explain it all to you in 2020.

I suggest that the Democrats listen to the voters and just pack it in and not even try again until 2036.

@oralloy,
the voters did a pretty good job of explaining it to you in 16 and 18 but you apparently weren't listening. and of course the founding fathers have been n their graves for two centuries and aren't listening too well either.

To reach those who have abandoned traditional landline telephones, Rasmussen Reports uses an online survey tool to interview randomly selected participants from a demographically diverse panel.

@MontereyJack,
The voters elected Mr. Trump to be our president in 2016.

In 2018 the voters increased the Republican majority in the US Senate.

Is it possible to impeach a whole party?

The Dems haven't achieved a single thing in four years.

Four Turkish soldiers have been killed in shelling by Syrian government forces in northwest Syria's Idlib region, according to Turkey's Ministry of National Defense.

The attack on Monday also left nine soldiers wounded, one of them critically.

The ministry said Turkish forces retaliated against the attack and destroyed targets in the Idlib region, the last rebel-held stronghold in war-torn Syria.

It added that the Syrian forces carried out the shelling despite previously being notified of the positions of Turkish forces.

Russia later said the Turkish military came under fire because Russia had not been warned about Turkey's operations in Idlib, the Tass news agency cited Russia's defence ministry as saying.

Turkish air force planes did not violate Syria's border and no attacks on Syrian troops were recorded, it added.

Speaking earlier on Monday, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Ankara had retaliated for the deadly attack.

"We made it clear that we are targetting the Syrian forces, we are targetting the Syrian regime's forces simply because it was them who attacked our Turkish soldiers," he said.

"We cannot sit on our hands. In response, we will hold to account all those responsible for the attack on the Turkish soldiers. And, as we speak, our air defences and warplanes are carrying out their respective operations."

Erdogan claimed that the counterfire killed between 30 and 35 Syrian troops.

Hundreds of thousands flee Syria's Idlib air raids
The development came a day after a large Turkish military convoy moved into the area on Sunday amid a new Syrian government offensive backed by Russian jets that has raised the spectre of a new refugee crisis.

The Turkish military convoy consisted of dozens of armoured vehicles, fuel tanker trucks and flatbed trucks carrying tanks and armoured personnel carriers.

Turkey has set up 12 military posts around Idlib in line with a 2018 deal between Russia, Iran and Turkey for de-escalation zones in the region.

Al Jazeera's Sinem Koseoglu, reporting from Istanbul, said Turkey sent the reinforcements to establish a military post and observation post around the Saraqib area.

"As the Syrian government advanced from south to north in Idlib, three of the 12 Turkish military observation posts are currently being surrounded by Syrian government forces," she said.

"And the displacement [of civilians] is ongoing. That's why the aim of the new military post was to stop the Syrian government advance towards Aleppo."

Organisation of Islamic Cooperation rejects Trump peace plan
Meeting at request of Palestinian leadership comes after Arab League rejects US president's proposal.

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has said it rejects US President Donald Trump 's recently unveiled Middle East plan.

The 57-member body, which held a summit on Monday to discuss the plan in Saudi Arabia's Jeddah, said in a statement that it "calls on all member states not to engage with this plan or to cooperate with the US administration in implementing it in any form".

Requested by the Palestinian leadership, the meeting of the body came two days after the Arab League rejected Trump's so-called "deal of the century", saying: "It does not meet the minimum rights and aspirations of Palestinian people."

@izzythepush,
If the Palestinians don't like the Trump Peace Plan, I have provided an Oralloy Peace Plan that they can use as an alternative:

https://able2know.org/topic/355218-4002#post-6954029

Seriously though. After all that the Palestinians have done, who cares what they want? Wall them off. If they cause trouble, shoot them until they stop causing trouble.

Impeachment was designed for dealing with serious abuses in the executive and judicial branches.

Serious abuses by the legislature are meant to be curtailed by having the entire House of Representatives stand for reelection and face the voters every two years.

So you wish to apply the former program of The National Socialist German Workers' Party to the Paleatinians instead of the Jews this time around?

Footnote shooting as a mean of such large scale killings was found to be too hard on even the shooters with suicide rates of the shooters going off the chart. You need gas chambers an similar means for such a project.

I clearly stated shooting them only when they cause trouble.

Those people were murdering peaceful civilians, not defending themselves from violent Palestinians.

The OIC is one of the reasons the UN is nothing but an Islamic tool. Every Western country should withdraw and let theses assholes talk to themselves.
