@hightor,
One might also posit an over-arching desire to curtail or to demean government programs/laws in other western nations (particularly English speaking nations) which stand as examples of working social programs that the US right does not like. Don't want Americans catching the virus. The bad faith attacks on Canada's medical system is a clear example. Likewise NRA attempts to shut down or minimize Canada's long gun registry. Likewise the US government's threats to damage New Zealand's sheep farming industries if NZ legalized drugs (this was about two decades ago).

Certainly you'll find different opinions - like those you referred to.

Here in Europe, another example, the Foundation for European Progressive Studies - "the only progressive think tank at the European level" - has as party affiliation the centre-left European Social-Democratic parties (Party of European Socialists & Democrats)

@Builder,
Referencing the article you quoted: The chocolate, heels, and fun is the ability to continue getting kickbacks from the oil and pharmaceutical industries for voting to keep them flush with billions while regular Americans die.

Centrists are racists in my estimation. They’ve fought off real overhaul of the institutional racism of our prison system, voting for endless continuation of Jim Crow in America and they give lip service to reformation of police selection and training. Centrists like Bill Clinton, Joe Biden and lamebrakns here vote to maintain this murderous anti-democratic status quo.

Ponies = life saving insurance.
Dowd’s heels, chocolate, and fun translates to how a public servant like Nancy Pelosi somehow came across 200 million dollars as a ‘public servant.’

Fun for her....and the corrupt ‘journalists’ that hoe her row for her.

@Walter Hinteler,
Of course, I don’t hold Germany to American political terms because that would be egocentric of me, wouldn’t it, Walter?

@Lash,
Here, in my above post, that's not a German but European term. And meaning.

.....US farmers will have lost a big market and Trump won't be able to continue to pay them compensation.....

Obama "found" the trillions required to bail out the criminal banksters, so who's to say how the farmers might miss out, or not?

The glyphosate writing has been on the wall since 2015, and contaminated crops have been getting refused at the port of arrival for long enough now, for farmers to implement changes in their on-farm practices with that particular chemical.

Iconic US brands have been pandering to the European market, which is also refusing products based on GM crops, or corn syrup bases. It's not like they can't change their ways on grain crops.

Obama cozied up to Monsanto, while the writing was on the wall. I guess, in the end, the market dictates what is acceptable.

Russia has refused to go the GM path with crops, and are apparently targeting the massive organic food market globally. I guess there's plenty more ways than one, to skin a cat. China is turning to Russia to supply their grain needs.

Earlier this month, in a bizarre news conference, Mr. Trump claimed that one of his priorities has been to ensure that America has the cleanest air and water in the world — ignoring his record of environmental damage. He has effectively handed the Interior Department and the Environmental Protection Agency over to the fossil fuel industry, eliminated vital environmental protections and opened our coasts and public lands to drilling at the exact moment we need to stop burning fossil fuels and urgently transition to clean energy.

So, why would the president give a big speech lying about his record on the environment? Because he is scared.

He knows that climate change is his weak spot. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll, only 29 percent of Americans approve of Mr. Trump’s position on climate change, while 62 percent disapprove — a wider gulf than on any other issue polled. And Mr. Trump’s own internal polling says his terrible record pillaging the environment is a huge obstacle to his re-election.

Media hypocrisy exposed. Bernie says the same things Trump says. Trump is condemned, Bernie isn't.

Not so long ago you were telling us to acquiesce to Trump's demands.

@izzythepush,
That’s my complaint, as well, along with my country’s refusal to allow us to benefit from it. My country has been run by Republicans and Centrists who worked together against progressives to maintain this murderous status quo.

@Lash,
I change my opinions. Not so frequently and fast as you do, though.

What really makes my wonder now is that you vehemently promote healthcare for all but support the UK's PM and the Conservatives.

Look, your baseless accusations will be met with the same. It’ll just clutter up space for what could be meaningful communication.

Corbyn has been a favorite of mine for a long time. As I’ve said many times, his policies are a lot like Bernie’s—these two men have great similarities and in my hyperbolic but still likely accurate manner of speaking, a world led by Corbyn and Sanders may just survive and flourish.

I’m still going to call Boris ‘Boris’, and I’m not apologizing for it.
