Given Mr. Trump's positive feelings about Mr. Putin, it's going to be interesting to see what happens to people who went to America from former Soviet bloc countries. My money is going to be on them being in Mr. Trump's sight for action next. Goodbye all you (former) Eastern Europeans.

You are falsely implying that anyone has said that people from these countries are all terrorists. A minimum prerequisite for informed debate is to be able to state your opponent's position correctly. The position is that travelers from places known for generating terrorists have a higher than average probability of being terrorists so that from these particular places, if you don't have sufficient available history, you cannot come in. There is a very temporary suspension on travel from these places while vetting procedures can be put in place. If you're going to argue with the Republican position, you need to stop presenting it incorrectly.

that you used this phrasing is enormously telling.

You can't read minds. As to the quotation, I stand corrected.

We've been instructed by three Trump advisers that taking Trump's words/promises literally is an error. We should read his heart instead. But I think we can do both in order to properly understand the man - his plans and his heart.

On Dec 8, 2015 Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump called for barring all Muslims from entering the United States.

So that's the literal and the plan. What about reading his heart? That's no as difficult as it might seem.

On @FoxNewsSunday, @KellyannePolls says judge's order "really doesn’t affect the (president's) Executive Order at all."

That's one of those "alternate facts" Kellyanne has alerted us to. But as there's nothing unusual now in that, let's look at what else is notable here.

This is, once again, a dominance display - Trump is senior to everyone and everything and he WILL GET WHAT HE WANTS. No one can stop him.

Another Kellyanne Conway ode to the First Amendment. She's such a constitutionalist, this one.

Quote:
Not one network person has been let go. Not one silly political analyst and pundit who talked smack all day long about Donald Trump has been let go. They’re on panels every Sunday, they are on cable news every day. Who is the first editorial writer, where is the first blogger that will be let go that embarrassed his or her outlets? We know all their names. I’m too polite to call them out by name, but they know who they are, and they’re all wondering “Will I be the first to go?”
(Fox news interview today)

That's all just threats - "say anything negative about Trump and you're an enemy and we'll get you. We know your names". This is straight McCarthyism but don't let that surprise you, remember that steadfast Trump supporter Ann Coulter wrote a book contending that McCarthy got it all right.

And look at that final bit - "and they're all wondering "Will I be the first to go?" That's total bullshit, of course, as no such concerns are in place. First, these criticisms comprise thousands of voices extending through mainstream media into much of the conservative media (National Review, Weekly Standard, American Conservative, etc). Second, news entities and editors are not caving, but are supporting their staffs.

Again, this is a dominance display. She's trying to spread an utter falsehood suggesting no one can/will stand up to this ******* lunatic and his gang of thug and thugettes.

She's right. She informs herself by looking at the court order. YOU inform yourself by eagerly accepting inaccurate "fake news" reports. And then, of course, you claim SHE doesn't know the facts.

So typical.

@blatham,
You must spend half your day looking at insignificant twitter posts, Blathy. That's pretty sorry, standing alone, but posting them here only exacerbates the problem. It does nothing but bore people and expose your juvenile mentality.

@blatham,
Kellyann started out with most people believing she was a smart attorney, but the more she talked, she removed that impression and respect. She would have done much better not representing Trump. She lost a lot.

@cicerone imposter,
We fucked up royally in Syria and our escalation of that war, due to our own hairbrained realpolitik goals caused the deaths and refugee status of hundreds of thousands more than without our meddling.

A little reading or scrolling will show you the numbers in the meme are accurate or low, depending on your view of US responsibility.

Our country fucked up a lot of countries. Killed many innocent people. Many are still questioning the atomic bombing of Japan.

I've read (where?), that he skipped countries he had investments in.

That makes sense to me, but I've not the link.
