@izzythepush,
Many, many worse than him, yes. I've just never liked the guy's songs nor his performance of them. That said, I recognize that there are a lot of high level musicians whom I respect that disagree with my taste (eg his invite by The Band to play at their Last Waltz.

@blatham,
I saw his remake of The Jazz Singer when I was in Leeds. I was about 17 at the time and with my dad. He had to go to some meeting or other connected with work, so I went to the cinema while he was doing that. After spending an hour in Leeds it was a blessed relief.

'The only 2 times I can remember establishment liberals like @HillaryClinton and @SenSchumer uniting with and cheering Trump Admin is when (a) he bombed Syria and (b) they indicted Assange (Schumer also cheered moving embassy to Jerusalem). That says a lot about their values.'

@izzythepush,
I lived in London for a month many years ago. But that, along with the train between Dover and London, constitutes my immersion in Englandness.

Punch a hippy, updated.

Here's a tweet today from Trump on the reported plan to haul immigrants to sanctuary cities and kick them out of the buses (or perhaps rail cars).
Quote:
"Due to the fact that Democrats are unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws, we are indeed, as reported, giving strong considerations to placing Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary Cities only.

"The Radical Left always seems to have an Open Borders, Open Arms policy -- so this should make them very happy!"

He's not going to do it in part because, as the WH has stated
Quote:
"This was just a suggestion that was floated and rejected, which ended any further discussion."
And because it appears to be illegal in the extreme.

Trump is just trolling here. It's his version of "owning the libs" or "punch a hippy". The man's an intellectual giant. Also, just the sort of person Jesus would get on with.

It shows that they can indeed support doing the right thing on rare occasions. Unfortunately there are numerous other occurrences where they oppose doing the right thing.

That this Greenwald character objects to doing the right thing says a lot about his values.

That whole "democracy" thing? It's nonsense. Not important.

Trump's Fed pick has boasted of "radical" views on economy, said he is not a "big believer in democracy": report http://hill.cm/N7KKw3Q

"Capitalism is a lot more important than democracy," Moore said. "I'm not even a big believer in democracy. I always say that democracy can be two wolves and a sheep deciding on what to have for dinner. Look, I'm in favor of people having the right to vote and things like that. But there are a lot of countries that have the right to vote that are still poor. Democracy doesn't always lead to a good economy or even a good political system."

Of course he doesn't believe in democracy. The people in a democracy have the power to regulate capitalists, and to curb their worst excesses. Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.--Winston Spencer Churchill

Most certainly not here, but several nations are quietly moving away from the terrible model set by western criminal nations.
