Anti-Semitic rallies in several US cities.
Quote:
Maybe this New York rally I mentioned below wasn’t the only one.

A short time after I wrote my post I received an email from TPM Reader T who pointed me to this press release about the protest which notes that the protests were planned for “New York, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, Hartford and Philadelphia and, in solidarity, in several places around the world.”

It’s important to note that when I call the New York City event an anti-Semitic rally I don’t say that simply because it opposed this one law. Obviously, any piece of legislation can be subjected to criticism. What I am referring to are numerous examples of attacks on Jews and Holocaust denial at the event itself. But as you can see from the press release, the arguments in the organizing press releases weren’t that far from what ended up happening at the rally.

The national organizers condemn the proposed law arguing that it vilifies Poland and makes Congress into the “debt collector” of “Jewish American restitution organizations.”

Quote:
They vilify Poland in the international arena and shift the blame for the Holocaust from Germany to Poland and apply various types of political and economic threats, pressure and blackmail while positioning the State Department, and ultimately the US Congress, in the role of both “arbitrator” and “debt collector” on behalf of Jewish American restitution organizations. All of the above amounts to a monumental extortion attempt, an act of the economic and political war waged against Poland.

There’s this passage from the organizers of the New York even specifically …

Quote:
Creating laws that put a selected group of citizens (Jews) above all others is a great, unprecedented evil. In addition, observing what happened in the Congress when the House Joint Resolution #37 was voted in mid-February, I perceive it as nothing short of an unprecedented assault at freedom of speech, and therefore, a birth of totalitarianism in this country (https://youtu.be/qmqe3UD-F3o). 424 members of Congress voted to “condemn anti-Semitism”, which I expect to be followed shortly by binding acts of law criminalizing that vaguely defined “anti-Semitism”. They want to have it interpreted as “any criticism of Jews or of the State of Israel”, as you can see in the clip. I think that we should protest that. Once “ice is broken”, further limitations of freedom of speech will come so much easier. They aim at taking away the 1st Amendment, just as they did with the 2nd Amendment. What is next?

But what about the other events.

A short time ago I heard separately from TPM Reader MC who appears to have seen the Los Angeles rally …

Quote:
I just wanted to add that there was a similar-looking rally (with lots of Polish flags) at the West LA Federal Building on 11000 Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles on Sunday also. I didn’t get a good look at it but just drove by. Their signage was not very good, but there was a sign mentioning S.-something, which I figured was a Senate bill. There were roughly 50 people. They were standing on the southwest corner of Wilshire Blvd and Veteran Avenue, which is a very common place for protests in the west Los Angeles area.

Curious to hear what others may have seen in other cities or in the local press.

TPM

Not that Trump, Bannon, Miller and crowd are tuning America into a shithole country, or anything.

Soon to be heard at Trump rallies...

Sorry, Walter, just saw this.

It's certainly possible. This description fits me like a Fredericks of Hollywood negligee. My mom's family came from the Ukraine and I'm not sure when, after 1763 and Katherine's invitation, they arrived there. Also not sure where the clan originated (I'd assumed lowlands).

That is ridiculous and has no basis in fact. It is the only thing you have, Three years of lying about Russia and 50 years of lying about the Republican party.

Ethnic cleansing is a Democratic idea starting with Sanger who considered Blacks human weeds. Accusing others of what you are guilty of does stop working at some point. That point has arrived.

And when are you going to keep you word? Why would anyone listen to a proven liar like you?

Trump said earlier that he'd like the full Mueller report released.

Trump now says demands for release of the Mueller report are "a disgrace".

I guess tomorrow he'll say that it's all just fake news, it's rigged, it's lies from Obama/Clinton deep state black unicorns. There was no collusion and also he has the biggest penis in the history of mankind.

Weapons Grade Stupid: Alyssa Milano, ‘Bible Scholar’, Cites Scripture While Pushing Abortion

AOC has nothing on this one.
Quote:
Funny thing about ‘believing in God’…

He doesn’t fit into neat little boxes like that.

The available options are either…

(a) God does not exist — in which case her private beliefs are not merely irrelevant but objectively false, and

(b) God does exist and he is not a ‘private belief’ but the actual source and fountainhead of everything we know as reality.

Alyssa is invoking the coward’s option. Or the hypocrite’s option. She is dressing up her argument as ‘religious’ only so that she can use it as a club against those who actually DO believe.

And she has some rather obnoxious straw-man opinions about people of faith and their objections to killing the unborn baby.

Too many geniuses on the Left, it just isn't fair. Mr. Green

I believe you are, likely deliberately, misstating the case here. Trump has very loudly and clearly labelled the Democrat demands for continuing investigation as a disgrace. This includes demands for information, well beyond the content report itself and things, such as Grand Jury transcripts, not normally released to anyone in investigations that fall short of probable cause. Trump did not label their interest in the Mueller as disgraceful -rather it was their expressed interest and intent to continue their politically motivated investigations long after the prescribed judicial investigation is complete. Big difference.

Another marker for the observable fact that most of your "advocacy" is merely the repetition of the propaganda of others.

Mainstream media has a serious problem.
Quote:
CBS Pushes Warped Portrayal of Human Smugglers

Quote:
CBS’ portrayal of smugglers as harmless social do-gooders, who are just “helping migrant,” who “don’t only do it for the money” and offer discounts for those who can’t afford their price. CBS closed with a quote from one of the smugglers rejecting the idea that they “are bad.”

“Most people think we (smugglers) are bad,’ Gonzalez Jimenez said,” in the CBS report. “‘But if a person needs to go from there to here, and can’t do it… and they tell me, ‘I’m going to pay you five, 10, 20 dollars… to take me to whatever location.’ And if I didn’t have a job at the time… to me, that’s good.”

CBS News’ positioning breezes past findings of Doctors Without Borders survey of migrants traveling through Mexico to the U.S. border found 68 percent had become victims of violence and 31 percent had been sexually abused.

So a Mexican guy with two last names is the CBS's go to source for the truth about smugglers? Pitiful.

@georgeob1,
I think it's safe to say Trump is always loud but seldom clear. He changes directions more quickly and more frequently than a school of minnows. I understand how badly the tea baggers want to see Roe V Wade repealed, only a fetus has the right to life, not the already born...blah blah blah....but do they have to smash to smithereens every single honorable thing this country has ever achieved. Some may not think it's a long list, but he has dishonored many international agreements, treaties, betrayed the trust of our partners and frankly other countries are moving away from us. Why should anybody trust Trump, he's been breaking glass faster than a bull in a China Shop....We will definitely be behind the eight-ball once he's gone even if he only last till 2020. Trump is the walking, talking personification of the ugly American, and his hotel is booked to the rafters in D.C...........by people anxious to do business with the Government or Trumps friends and family. Who in their right mind would want to piss off the most easily offended man in the world by spending money in a competitors hotel or restaurant. Trump has turned D.C. and most of his East Coast resorts and golf courses into the modern day 'company store'. It is an elevated surreal version of Buyer Beware/don't even think about it.
