Germany will on Monday deport an accomplice of the 11 September 2001 terror attacks on the United States, Moroccan native Mounir al-Motassadek.

Motassadek has spent almost 15 years in prison for his part in the deaths of passengers aboard the highjacked aeroplanes used in the attacks.

He has served almost his entire sentence, and is being sent to Morocco.

He has always denied being involved in the 9/11 plot, but admitted to being friends with those who did.

German authorities are transporting him under heavy guard.

Photographs taken on Monday showed Motassadek wearing a blindfold and with his hands bound, being taken from prison by helicopter.

Motassadek was the first person convicted in connection with the 11 September attacks against the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon, in which nearly 3,000 people died.

German website Der Spiegel reports that Morocco had insisted Motassadek fly on a regular commercial passenger flight - where he will sit accompanied by several police in row 32.

Once he arrives in Morocco, his precise fate is unclear.

He most likely will get a heroes welcome( much like the Lockerbie bomber did) and find his way back to terror. Although in the prison system he no doubt kept his connections to terrorists.

You've been in the JVA Fuhlsbüttel or any other of the Hamburg Justice Enforcement Facilities" because you refer to the "prison system"? (JVA is short for Justizvollzugsanstalt, the name in German for 'prison'.Prisons are run solely by the states here.)

Islamic infiltration is everywhere in Germany and all of Western Europe. Who runs the prisons means 0.

Your government will tell what you can do, say, and where you can go. You seem to be fine with that.

Well, you wrote "system" and I responded to that: the prison system in Germany is that are run solely by the federal states, although under federal law.
The head offices for the state prison services are in the respective state justice ministries. But I've only imprecise knowledge about the prison system in (the state of) Hamburg.

@coldjoint,
I'm not fine with the current government. Unfortunately - in my opinion, I opposed it - my party is a coalition partner in the current government.

Nitpicking again, it still is the same answer, who runs them means 0 when it comes to Islamic infiltration.

I hope so. My premiums this year are insane.
No such luck. Mine are going up again. I might be forced to scale back to a silver plan and just hope I don't get sick. Sad

Actually, you wrote 'system' twice. Thus, I thought you really meant '[prison] system'.
My bad that I didn't get, you meant Islamic infiltration with those two words.

Since English isn't my first language but since I know quite a bit about the prison system in my state, I was mislead. Sorry.

@ehBeth,

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. federal government closed the 2018 fiscal year $779 billion in the red as tax cuts hit revenues and the government paid more to service a growing national debt, according to Treasury Department data released on Monday.

The data also showed a $119 billion budget surplus in September, which was larger than expected and a record for the month. A senior Treasury official said the monthly surplus was smaller when adjusted for calendar shifts.

Economists generally view the corporate and individual tax cuts passed by the Trump administration late last year and an increase in government spending agreed in early February as likely to balloon the nation’s deficit.

The deficit in the 12 months through September was $113 billion - or 17 percent - bigger than in the same period a year earlier. Adjusting for calendar effects, the gap was even larger, the Treasury official said.
