I wonder if any one is making a tally of how many hours a day, or week or year of television time has been devoted to Donald Trump. I'm curious because I don't remember any previous administration getting anywhere near the same attention. I'm not bringing this up to be provocative, I'm honestly wondering how this compares.
A few years back I assumed only celebrities, promoters and attention hogs (including some reporters) used twitter to dump every thought in their head to the masses. Obviously I was wrong, everybody and their brother now has twitter and feels obliged to comment on something every 5 seconds. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, it's just unrelenting. Trump seems to need an attentive audience, basically, look at me, look at me, HEY LOOK AT ME. All day long I get "flash" alerts about 'tweets' freakin 'tweets'. Even if I'm killing time looking at silly Youtube videos I'm screwed because suddenly I'll hear an annoying 'ping' as another goddaMN CNN blurb flashes across my screen.
I know I'm cranky but I won't get alerts about approaching tornadoes, prisoners escaping from local slammers, amber alerts or appeals to help find dementia afflicted folks who have wandered away, without getting all the **** I don't care about. I don't care what Tom Cruise thinks about mental health or what wives of cabinet members are wearing.
@izzythepush,
Rober Mueller runs a tight ship and his ship doesn't leak. What I find shocking is that the rumors are floated by Trump Loyalists attempting to muddy the waters and presented as if they come from the special counsel.
There is a ton of misdirection and disinformation tossed out to keep people angry and ignorant. It's incredibly disturbing to see so much distrust fueled and fanned by innuendo. Isn't it terrifying that people will jump on board to obliterate someone because Trump or any other authoritarian urges them? It never seems to occur to these people that it could happen to them if 'glorious leader ' is in a bad mood. I truly hope it never happens, but I worry we are getting very close to someone being badly hurt by a nutcase on a mission to right an imaginary wrong. We are in deep trouble.
@glitterbag,
You only have to look at the vitriol poured on the parents of murdered Sandy Hook children to see how disgusting and inhuman the far right can be.
@izzythepush,
Mike Pence is scheduled to speak at some huge shindig for the NRA, the Secret Service has said that no one can carry guns into the event. Those ninny's are beside themselves that they can't conceal or open carry. All the bullshit about they can't feel safe without their phallic symbols when the whole freaking place will be buttoned down by armed secret service officers, trained dogs and the entire federal system, and these sissies won't feel safe????? How is that possible? Maybe they shouldn't t have asked the freaking vice president (Saint) Pence to address that armpit of idiots. Next time ask the pedophile Ted (I'm an asshole) Nugent or Sara Palin. to speak.....then gunplay wouldn't be a concern for the secret service.
@glitterbag,
You're right, when did the land of the brave become dominated by a bunch of spineless cowards?

Well, he has a creepy fondness and searches for 12 year old girls. Does that count?
@izzythepush,
It's not just the creepy lyrics, his sleazy chicken hawk activities are well documented. If you really want to make yourself sick, read about his self confessed activities when he was trying to avoid the draft.
@glitterbag,
None of which affects his standing with the right wing. It's Roy Moore all over again. These people have no decency or morality whatsoever.
More bad news for Trump's party in TexAS in 2018. He's losing his base!
57 White Supremacists In Texas Indicted In Meth, Kidnapping Cases
One supremacist allegedly “used a hatchet to chop off a portion” of a victim’s index finger.
By Sebastian Murdock
Authorities have charged 57 white supremacists with crimes related to a yearslong methamphetamine operation in Texas, a federal court has revealed.
In an indictment unsealed Monday by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and obtained by HuffPost, white supremacists from six different groups are facing charges including drug trafficking and kidnapping.
Members from the Aryan Circle, the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas, the Aryan Brotherhood, the Peckerwoods, the Soldiers of Aryan Culture and the Dirty White Boys “engaged in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and other illegal narcotics throughout the Northern District of Texas and elsewhere,” according to the indictment.
The groups all have ties to white supremacist ideology, including the Ayran Circle, which believes “in the complete separation of the races.” The Aryan Brotherhood, meanwhile, may have as many as 20,000 members, the indictment says.
Many of the defendants “used firearms and physical violence to further their drug trafficking activities,” according to the indictment.

To be fair, those 12 and 14 year old kids were probably wanton little hussies. (Isn't that what creepy old guys like Roy Moore say?)
@izzythepush,
Boosting the US's bid to host the 2026 football World Cup, Trump indirectly criticised Morocco for daring to compete and threatened other countries, who would support Morocco's bid.
Weapon export works immediately.
Quote:KIEV, Ukraine — In the United States, Paul J. Manafort is facing prosecution on charges of money laundering and financial fraud stemming from his decade of work for a pro-Russian political party in Ukraine.
But in Ukraine, where officials are wary of offending President Trump, not so much. There, four meandering cases that involve Mr. Manafort, Mr. Trump’s former campaign chairman, have been effectively frozen by Ukraine’s chief prosecutor.
The cases are just too sensitive for a government deeply reliant on United States financial and military aid, and keenly aware of Mr. Trump’s distaste for the investigation by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, into possible collusion between Russia and his campaign, some lawmakers say.
The decision to halt the investigations by an anticorruption prosecutor was handed down at a delicate moment for Ukraine, as the Trump administration was finalizing plans to sell the country sophisticated anti-tank missiles, called Javelins.
The State Department issued an export license for the missiles on Dec. 22, and on March 2 the Pentagon announced final approval for the sale of 210 Javelins and 35 launching units. The order to halt investigations into Mr. Manafort came in early April.
The intention in Kiev to freeze cooperation with American investigators was readily acknowledged by Volodymyr Ariev, a member of Parliament who is an ally of President Petro O. Poroshenko.
