Breaking news, this is all there is at the moment.

Quote:
Police say they have been responding to reports of a "significant incident" at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk.

The incident at the base used by the US air force is understood to have involved an individual in a vehicle trying to force his way through a checkpoint.

Mildenhall was put into lockdown for a time.

A person was arrested and is now in the custody of Suffolk Police,

Cambridge Analytica, the shady data firm that might be a key Trump-Russia link, explained (VOX)

Quote:
The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has requested that a data analytics company called Cambridge Analytica turn over internal documents as part of its investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 election.

Cambridge Analytica specializes in what’s called “psychographic” profiling, meaning they use data collected online to create personality profiles for voters. They then take that information and target individuals with specifically tailored content (more on this below).

So far there’s been a lot of speculation about the potential links between the Trump campaign and Russia, and most of the stories have orbited around the financial dealings of the Trump family and people like Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign manager. But this story is specifically about how team Trump, with the help of this data company, might have facilitated Russia’s meddling in the US presidential election.

So here’s what we know about Cambridge Analytica, its connections to the Trump campaign, and what sorts of things Mueller is likely looking into.

@layman,
True we don't know if there is a link, which btw the headline said "might", neither does Mueller; which is why he is requesting the data. The article is informing us what Mueller and the House is probably looking for in the data of which the company collected. Gave a lot of information into their methods and said Flynn had some doings with the company who as you know is cooperating with Mueller after pleading guilty to lying federal officials which is a crime.

Since when is unbridled speculation about what "might" have happened "news?" It aint.

But it would certainly qualify as "fake news," ya know?

@layman,
No, it wouldn't qualify as being "fake news"; reporting on Mueller's investigation is perfectly legitimate.

Quote:
"What's going on with the Russia-Trump investigation."

"I heard that he's checking out Cambridge Analytica."

"Why?"

"They had ties to the campaign and could provide the exculpatory
evidence necessary to close the investigation."

You never know what they might find. I'm sure there's no cause for alarm.

Thanks for the click, chump, we like your money.

We never said we had any evidence whatsoever that martians have landed on the moon. Our headline never claimed that. We said "might have," sucker. If you think that suggests that we might have something in the way of evidence to offer for that, then you aint real bright, eh?

@layman,
I used to think you were purposely dense, I am beginning to wonder if it is by design after all.

The news is that Mueller (along with the House which has done so) is seeking the data in the first place and what the company is and how it is connected to the Trump administration and what might be the end result of it.

Let's say an alleged terrorist has been alleged to have plotted a terrorist act. Would it be fake news to say authorities are looking into such and such person to see if they might have plotted terrorist acts? No it wouldn't. And I know you know it.

* The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll shows Democrats with an 11-point advantage over Republicans on the generic congressional ballot, 50% to 39%. It's the Dems' largest lead since 2008, which was a very good year for the party.

* The latest national Associated Press poll showed Donald Trump's approval rating down to just 32% -- the third major national poll in recent weeks showing the president's support dropping to this depth. The FiveThirtyEight polling average for Trump has now reached the lowest point of his presidency.

Right now I'm lookin for a few more trolls to ridicule anyone who doesn't insist that the FBI spying on Trump by way of a co-conspiring GSA is completely constitutional, ya know?

FBI warned Trump in 2016 Russians would try to infiltrate his campaign

Quote:
WASHINGTON — In the weeks after he became the Republican nominee on July 19, 2016, Donald Trump was warned that foreign adversaries, including Russia, would likely try to spy on and infiltrate his campaign, according to multiple government officials familiar with the matter.

The warning came in the form of a high-level counterintelligence briefing by senior FBI officials, the officials said. A similar briefing was given to Hillary Clinton, they added. They said the briefings, which are commonly provided to presidential nominees, were designed to educate the candidates and their top aides about potential threats from foreign spies.

The candidates were urged to alert the FBI about any suspicious overtures to their campaigns, the officials said.

Trump judicial nominee Matthew Petersen pulls out after struggling to answer basic questions
Quote:
Matthew Petersen, a nominee to the federal judiciary, has withdrawn from consideration days after a video clip showed him unable to answer basic questions about legal procedure, the White House confirmed on Monday.

Petersen, nominated for a seat on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, is the third Trump judicial pick to withdraw in the past week amid criticism from Democrats and others about their qualifications.

White House spokesman Raj Shah confirmed that Petersen’s nomination has been withdrawn and declined to comment further.
