I guess I finally see how this works, eh? It's all about an "expectation of privacy," according to the ONE "legal expert" the NYT managed to find to prop up their narrative.
So, if the FBI tells you: "Beginning today, we are going to start tapping your phone without a warrant," then no warrant is ever needed.
1. You no longer have an "expectation" of privacy, so you can't complain when your rights are violated.
2. Furthermore, if you use your telephone, you have "consented" to an illegal search and seizure.
Who knew that the government can easily deprive you of your civil rights just by announcing that they intend to break the law?
The FBI is VERY clever, eh?
