@revelette1,
It is possible to impeach them both--but it would be more likely that Pence would be thrown under the bus rather than Plump. It takes a vote of the House to impeach someone, and impeach just means indict. Thereafter, the accused would have to be convicted by the Senate. Neither of those things are likely to happen, as things stand right now. In effect, the Republicans don't even care if they lose heavily in the mid-term election. The Democrats could take over both house, and pass a bill to repeal the looting of the tax payer embodied in the tax bill, and Plump could just veto the bill. There's no way in hell the Democrats would get the two-thirds vote necessary to override a veto.

A special prosecutor or a judicial committee can recommend impeachment, but it still has to be approved by the House.

@Finn dAbuzz,
The so-called feminists of Steinem’s stripe lost every scintilla of legitimacy supporting serial rapist/grab-asser, Clinton. And that insane Hillary bullshit with Steinem and Albright hermetically sealed corporate Democrat feminisms’ coffin.

An embarrassment.

I highly doubt Trump is concerned with this. He is more likely chuckling his arse off because now Flynn finally gets to tell his full story, one which he has wanted to tell, and one which he already offered to tell for immunity but was turned down. Now, facing charges of lying, but NO charges of collusion or anything actually substantive in the "Russia did it" narrative, his testimony is most likely to just further weaken that narrative, and indeed is more likely to open whole new plateaus of wrongdoing to investigation, and it won't be into collusion on the Trump administration's part. Flynn has years and years of dirt to access. And it just so happens it is mostly dirt on the D's.

Moral? Never lean over a firework with a short fuse when you go to light it. It might just go off in your face.

You always look good with egg on your face. I opened that post with "too phunny" which is a combo of phony and funny, but again, this kind of chuckle goes right over your pentacostal head.

Most peeps would "get" that is was a joke by reading the first paragraph. I note that glambag also missed the joke. You make a great couple. Laughing

@Setanta,
Setanta, to add to your Post 6549067, it takes a simple majority in the House of Representatives by the Judiciary Committee first and then the full House. Then, in the trial held in the Senate, it takes a much more rigid standard of 2/3 super majority vote to convict. As it stands today or even after the 2018 elections, the tremendous partisanship in the Senate would make it unlikely that a conviction of tRump or Pence would happen! This is the reason the 25th Amendment is the fastest and most likely manner to remove him from office.

Then again he has packed the Cabinet with partisan hacks that he constantly requires loyalty oaths from to remain in office; therefore, making this unlikely also. Sad, really, really sad state of affairs for the most powerful country in the world! I doubt there would even be conviction or removal from office if he shots someone on 5th Avenue, especially if it was a Democrat.

I've read that Trump will signal his intent/desire on Monday to site the US embassy in Israel in Jerusalem. Is that correct? I see no mention of it on the BBC or Aljazeera.

Not to me.

Of course, now that Bill is a political eunuch, they're all over him, but not Hillary as their votes for her are fresh and she may yet rise again.

@Setanta,
Which is why Mueller is likely to wrap things up before the 2018 elections.

If he stalls to wait and see if the Dems take over the House & Senate it will prove allegations that he's a partisan.

Otherwise, he lays out the facts and if the partisans in DC don't act on them, it's not his fault.

The guy is an investigator, not a judge.

The cheer squad seems rather quiet at the moment?

Is this more "fake" news?

ABC News reporter Brian Ross suspended for ‘serious error’ in Flynn reporting

by Phil McCausland

Quote:
ABC News announced on Saturday that it had suspended chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross for a "serious error" in his reporting about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn's guilty plea for lying to the FBI.

The longtime television news correspondent was suspended for four weeks without pay after Ross reported on air Friday that President Donald Trump directed Flynn to make contact with Russia's government during the 2016 presidential campaign.

This is the same reporter that incorrectly linked the 2001 anthrax scare to Saddam/Iraq, which ABC never retracted or apologized for, and who incorrectly linked the Aurora shooter to the Tea Party.

@Brand X,
Well, it's panned out exactly opposite to what they wanted, I guess.
Quote:

Kathleen Culver, the director of the Center for Journalism Ethics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, said the mistake would give fresh ammunition to Mr. Trump and other conservatives who have attacked the credibility of news organizations, especially those that have reported negatively on the administration.

“This error plays right into the hands of people who callously try to say that news media all just lie,” Ms. Culver said in an interview on Saturday night. “This is the kind of thing you can see being brought up again and again and again at appearances by the president, where he will take one situation in which something was wrong, and blow that out into a condemnation that all news media are fake.”

Hours after ABC’s statement, Mr. Trump used Twitter to praise the network for suspending Mr. Ross, calling his report “horrendously inaccurate and dishonest.” The president ended his tweet by referring to “Fake News.”

Loose cannon, like others here who jumped for joy at the "news".

Sanders: This Tax Bill Will Be Remembered As One Of The Greatest Robberies In American History

Sanders: This Tax Bill Will Be Remembered As One Of The Greatest Robberies In American History

Sen. Bernie Sanders calls the GOP tax bill one of the greatest heists in world history.

BERNIE SANDERS: As I think about what's going on here today, I think this is in many ways a historic day, a day that historians will look back on: December 1, 2017.

And they will conclude that today is the day of one of the great robberies, criminal activities if you like, in the modern history of this country, because the federal treasury is being looted tonight.

As we speak, there are lobbyists all over Capitol Hill writing down in handwriting, amendments to this bill to give hundreds of millions, if not billions in tax breaks, billions of dollars in tax breaks to large corporations.

As we speak, they're probably still writing those amendments.

Meanwhile, the Rrepublican-led Senate has been unable to reauthorize the CHIP program, the health insurance program for low-income children. Didn't have enough time to do that. We have been unable to reauthorize the community health center program, providing 27 million people with health insurance. We don't have the time to do that.

But tonight, we are presumably going to pass legislation, when at a time of massive income and wealth inequality, 62% of the tax benefits go to the top 1%.

And ten years from now, ten years from now, millions and millions of middle-class Americans will be paying more in taxes.

Mr. President, I have not the slightest doubt as I have said before, that after the Republicans pass this huge tax giveaway to the wealthy and large corporations, they will be back on the floor of the Senate. And when they come back, they'll say, 'oh, my goodness, the deficit is too high. We have got to cut social security, medicare, medicaid, education, and nutritional programs.'

In other words, in order to give tax breaks to billionaires and to large, profitable corporation, they're going to cut programs for the elderly, the children, working families of this country, and the poor. This legislation will go down in history as one of the worst, most unfair pieces of legislation ever passed. But I say to my Republican colleagues, as you saw on November 7, the American people are catching on.

Actually, the federal treasury got "looted" in the orchestrated financial crisis of 2007-8, when Obama bailed out the banksters who set it all up.

The same was said about the LIBOR scandal, but that was quietly swept under the rug.

The day before 911, Rumsfeldt declared that the Pentagon had "lost" 16 trillion dollars.

The middle-class was virtually dissolved in the 2007-8 orchestrated crisis. Wages for the lower classes haven't actually increased for decades, in real terms.

It's more of same trickle-down BS that was instigated by the Reagan admin, and was continued by subsequent admins.

Not really a partisan thing, but what do you expect from the current lineup, Lash? A millionaire once-was lothario lands the top job in a nation already being screwed over by the ruling class of scumbags?

Conservatives who have turned a deaf ear to hundreds of obvious Trump lies have suddenly became outraged when ABC News anchor said on air that Trump directed Michael Flynn to call the Russian. What actually happened? Trump directed Michael Flynn to call the Russians. So where is the rub? Ross identified Trump in the on air story as candidate Trump when at that point Trump was president elect Trump. A very small detail it was still Trump directing Flynn to call the Russians. So Flynn did not act on his own or from orders from Trump's subordinates. In fact the call to Russians is indeed far worse when Trump was president elect. This puts Trump in violation of the Logan Act. No matter what the conservatives want to believe the FBI has the actual tape of Flynn making promises to Russians about Trump removing the sanctions put in place by Obama as soon as Trump was inaugurated president. When someone contracts to have someone killed the money is not all paid upfront say $10,000 and $10,000 when the job is done. The Russians were anxiously awaiting their pay off for getting Trump elected when Obama but even more sanctions on Russia, expelled their spies, and closed down their spy centers. The Russians were absolutely livid and Trump and company were well aware of that. They had to reassure the Russians the fix was still on and they would be well paid for their help. It does not make any difference whether this call was made when Trump was a candidate or when he was president elect it is a violation of the Logan Act and it is and should be an impeachable offence. America cannot have two presidents at a time with one telling foreign countries they can't do this and another telling them yes you can.

No one that looks at the evidence can deny that the Russians interfered with the presidential election what is in dispute is did the Russian participation change the outcome. This election took place while the way in which many Americans get their news is was a state of flux. The traditional news sources of the older generations such as news papers, television, radio, and magazines were being replaced by internet sourced news sources who we have found out could come from any part of the world and be camouflaged to look as if they had come from American based groups. These sources were not news stories but paid political miss information ads that could be Tweeted and Retweeted. In fact the Russian misinformation ads were Retweeted by Trump and family. We all know that political ads are extremely effective and $100s of millions are spent on them each election cycle. News stories are considered a far better source of information about political candidates so Russian political ads camouflaged as news stories were extremely effective in the past election cycle. So many people believe that if they saw it in print it has to be true. That has never been more untrue in any point in history. Hillary won the popular vote by over 3 million votes did the Russian interference change the outcome? I have no doubt.
