@blatham,

I've done a lot of archaeology study while at university (and since) and I'm a tad confused re Tony's statement and what's being referred to. For one thing, we know with significant assurance that the homo sapiens sapiens brain has been essentially the same for 50,000 years at minimum. Secondly, the development of technical expertise and innovation isn't relevant to the question at hand - religious notions.

Yes, I know, I'm not sure how the technological innovation part got into the statement that was made, unless it was just an off-hand comment..My response was directed toward their moral contributions..

@tony5732,
The local sheriff says its safe enough. There are just US citizens doing what citizens do. Shopping sending their kids to school. Oh, I've been had. You were hinting, without proof that they were dangerous.I googled the town and found nothing about any dangerous things going on there. But it seems someone has posted a false movie of Muslim women with guns which the sheriff says is a lie.

@georgeob1,
At least he isent a liar. And calling someone a coward over something like this said a hell of a lot about your character or rather your lack of it.

Understood. And that's a very interesting, if complicated, matter.

I think Tony brought up the technological aspect as evidence that early human (pre-literate) behaviors demonstrate high levels of intellectual achievement - therefore they were "smart". That's undoubtedly true. But we obviously can't get from that observation to a quite different assumption that their religious ideas ought to be granted validity (creations stories, for example).

And ps... lovely to have you on board here.

Prediction:
Soon, Donald Trump will explain that he cannot attend presidential security briefings because their schedule conflicts with his morning prayer time.

Actually, you misunderstand george's post(s). On the encouragement of his therapist, george has enrolled in an evening course titled "Assertiveness Training For The Excessively Humble" (based on the manual written by Dr. Uriah Heep) and he's presently on the exercises required in section 3 - Calumnification.

There's a story blowing up re the sudden decision by Jason Miller, two days after being tapped to lead the Trump WH communications team, to resign the transition team to "spend more time with my family". But we can skip that until after Christmas.

And wouldn't it be refreshing to hear some politico say, "I'm taking this time-consuming post in order to spend less time with my family"

Trump on Thursday said the United States “must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes." Saturday he accused NBC of intentionally leaving out the latter, more measure portion of his statements.

“.@NBCNews purposely left out this part of my nuclear qoute: "until such time as the world comes to its senses regarding nukes." Dishonest!” the president-elect tweeted Saturday afternoon.

Trump did not specify when NBC supposedly left out a portion of his comments.

NBC News’ initial report covering Trump’s comments on nuclear expansion, however, cited his comments in full. And the Thursday broadcast of NBC’s “Nightly News with Lester Holt” displayed his comments in their entirety.

Perhaps Trump will clarify the instance he said happened but don't count on it. The more important dynamic here is forwarding the propagandist narrative that mainstream media cannot be trusted Read This

Definitely not true. Do you know how many Democrats are faking racial and religious hate crimes to illegally and immorally frame Trump voters?

A rather devastating piece on Navarro, Trump's pick as head of the new WH National Trade Council...
Quote:
So who is Navarro, and what can we actually expect from him? The simplest, most digestible, and most revealing answer comes in an unlikely form: a low-budget and nominally nonpartisan documentary called Death By China, written, directed and produced by Navarro himself. As a film critic, I found it an appalling cinematic experience. But it’s a brutally effective, if unsubtle, 79 minutes of propaganda -- which might explain why Trump liked it so much.

How unusual to have a propagandist in this group.

Because we're keeping track of Trump, let us note that he has found time to congratulate his buddy Putin for tossing insults at Clinton and Obama but no time at all to say anything at all about the chairman of his New York campaign who, it was revealed last week, had said in 2017 that he'd like to see Obama
Quote:
“[catch] mad cow disease after being caught having relations with a Herford.”

and
Quote:
“Michelle Obama. I’d like her to return to being a male and let loose in the outback of Zimbabwe where she lives comfortably in a cave with Maxie, the gorilla.”

Classy? Check. Respect for the office of the Presidency? Check. Respect for women? Two checks at least. Racism? Why would I play the race card? Why would I deem that appropriate? Who knows.

But we do know Trump has said nothing about this. Not a peep. Because he's a leader. A model. A great American.

@blatham,
No American citizen will miss having the 0bama's in our White House.
They overstayed their welcome by 7 years & 11 1/2 months.
They abused the office from day one - we are all happy they are leaving.

In a desperate effort to keep a conservative majority on the court, Senate Republicans rejected their own professed values of preserving American institutions

Yes they did. And they'll do far worse now. Because they are not conservatives, they are revolutionaries.
