Its no joke. Its a little known horror that took an unknown but significant number of Black lives.
Shits for real. People are both and armed and nuts around here in Texas. I live in a town just west of Austin with a population of less than 10k and last summer the Klan marched seriously armed through downtown. That was not about freedom of expression, it was about setting a tone and intimidation.
In the 1920's blacks were burnt out and driven out of this and several other local towns.
