It doesnt matter. My indians and my marlins are going to make the wild card for the respective leagues and then face off again in the world series.
still 1-0, 8th inning -- they brought in rivera to pitch to pinch-hitter ortiz with a runner on 1st...
walked him!
tying run @ 2nd...
shite -- caveman hit white rock to first baseman...
top 9th -- rivera walked ramirez w/ 2 outs...
mill-AAAH singled -- 1st & 3rd, ex-yankee olerud pinch-hitting... f***! he struck out...
The perfect game. Yankees won, it was a squeaker game down to the wire and Johnson finally looked decent. Not fantastic, but better than he has for a long while.
schilling & johnson pitch great games on consecutive days, just like they usedta for the DBacks... coincidence?
I'd say Johnson pitched a bit better than "decent." How the hell could have he done better?
What will be hilarious is when the Yanks don't even make the playoffs. Georgie will commit suicide live on TV.

No, the prevailing rumor is that he will axe Torre in the lockerroom in front of stunned reporters and a national audience. A-Rod will then use Steinbrenner's head as a ball and lob it out of the park (they'll be in Boston that day I believe so look out Logan.) Giambi will do a dance on the deceased Steinbrenner and Torre will shed tears at the love being shown towards him and to express his love of the team. Stottlemyre will out of habit reach for the phone and call Rivera in for relief.

NYY is 1-1/2 games behind Cleveland in wild-card race as we speak. Of course, a lot can happen in three weeks...
No Cleveland will end the year with a 28 game winning streak which includes that 7 game and counting streak they are on now.

Clearly that ain't happening.
Two amazing possibilities exist as we speak:
If Boston or NYY loses the AL East, that team may not make the playoffs (may not be the wild card);
The NL West winner may have a sub .500 record.
How cool would it be if NYY fails to make the playoffs? Oh, how heads will roll...
the weekend series up heeyuh is gonna be pure bedlam... can't wait
I wander if baseball will continue without a NY team in playoffs? The media doesn't seem to think so...
NYY and Boston tied again, pending tonight's games. While I haven't checked the math, I just read that the Red Sox victory in the day game todaymeans that neither team can clinch before they reach Boston this weekend. Cool!
this yankee fan in my office casually mentioned that Bellhorn is gonna join the killer B club (Babe, Bucky, Buckner & Boone) this weekend.
we promptly pelted him with rubber bands and wads of paper...
Kills me how Toronto and Tampa Bay handle the Sox-Yanks
Toronto is good, but their inconsistency and their situational hitting is lacking (and Roy Halladay is injured). Sox is still one game back. The weekend will be rowdy.
Big Papi, Small. It just gets better and better
