A-Rod, is the most overpaid bum in the f*cking league. He gets paid $45,000 each at bat, and in that ninth inning, when he came up after Jeter got on, I somehow knew it was an automatic out. I was thinking, "please, a$$hole, at least hit a sacrifice fly to move Jeter up." Not only did he not do what I'd hoped for, he hit into a double play. That's what $45,000 per-at-bat gets you these days. He should be dragged through the streets of Manhattan and flogged to death.

One of the NY Times columnists calls for Steinbrenner to fire himself. I hope that doesn't happen. As a lifelong NYY hater, I count him on him to continue to throw $$$ on over-the-hill superstars.

Maybe he can convince Clemens to come back. If so, it will be just about when Roger's arm is finally ready to fall off...

I read in the NY Times today that the White Sox pitching coach, on the eve of the World Series, said he's intrigued by the idea of being a Yankee coach. "Who wouldn't want to work for George Steinbrenner?" he asks.

I can think of a few: Stottlemyre, Mazzone...

It's official: a clean-shaven Damon joins Yankees
BY SAM BORDENNew York Daily NewsNEW YORK -
Joe Torre had just landed at Newark. The flight back from Italy was long and the Yankee manager was tired. As he went through the process of officially reentering the country on Wednesday afternoon, however, his mood quickly brightened.
"I got off the plane and the customs official said to me, `You got your center fielder,''' Torre recalled Friday. "It sounded like it was something you'd believe. So I called (GM Brian Cashman) right away."
Cashman happily reported the news that finally became official Friday at the Stadium when Johnny Damon slipped on a pinstriped No. 18 jersey and put a Yankee cap atop his newly clipped hair. As cameras flashed furiously,
