Passengers Trapped On Train After Woman Throws Cartons of Bugs

At least they were fresh.... I wonder if she got them in bulk at Costco... or found them locally sourced?

I lived for about a year in Okeechobee Fla. Yes, it's as horrible as it sounds.

I'll never forget this one time I went into the post office. Someone had a business that wholesaled crickets to to bait and tackle shops and such. They must have been sending out that day to multiple buyers. I remember there were boxes stacked up taller then a person, many, many stacks of boxes. Like several hundred. Each one contained 1000 to 5000 crickets.

I learned that before shipping they chill the crickets down to shut them up.
Unfortunately, they warmed up inside the post office.

I live with crickets off and on in the summer. I like them and don't mind the noise, they are sort of cute in their way. I do step on them on purpose if they get into the hallway by the bedroom but I feel immediately guilty. So far, I've gotten by without cricket hoards invading. Thing is, I take them as only after water, and they tend to show up one at a time. As each year goes by, I get less and less anti-cricket, more pro cricket.

I've had two lizards come in this year too, but I managed to scoot them out the door. I suppose they are looking for water too, don't know.
I'm not adept enough to catch a cricket with a container - thus to let out the door - as they are speedsters.

@ossobucotemp,
Oss I concur most wholeheartedly. Major guilt when I feel compelled to spray an influx of ants around my bed and in my pants

@dalehileman,
I'm mean about smallish ants that come inside since the ones here bite me and I'm allergic to the bites. In this case, no pity. But, ants not in my house, I let them alone. The big ones in the front sand area never try to come in, and I gather trying to evict a queen could cause more grief. They have their life, I have mine.

@ossobucotemp,
I'd often wondered during that last incursion how far away their hill. Assuming they're pretty desperate since we've been having a bit of hot, dry weather as you're probably aware

@dalehileman,
Problems arise leaving water going outside or even resting in small dishes, says me who has designed many fountains, has seen incredibly gorgeous fountains, but worry about mosquitoes. I solved it in my place earlier with gambusa fish in my small pond.. the city of L.A. provided them.
