have you already forgotten that picture of the republican guy grabbing a fistful of that girl's hair from behind, last week ?

look, i figure if you walk into an opposing party's rally, you are taking your chances these days. but don't try to pretend that it's just the evil democrats or liberals or whatever you call non-republicans this week that have a few bad actors.

and despite what you think of the guy, it sure seems like he keeps pulling the same crap. and if he uses his kids as a political tool, he really is a pathetic jack ass.

family values... hah!

So, now you are judging him solely on the basis that his son, in one picture, looks like another guy in another picture?

First off, how old is the picture of his family? Has anyone asked him where he was or shall we simply assume guilt and presume it's him? That first step is a doozey, don't hurt yourself by stepping off it...

Do I think it's the same guy? No. Do they look similar? Sure. But that means nothing. Lots of people look alike.

In my opinion, what it comes down to is your desire to find fault. If you want to look at Parlock as the enemy, you will believe junk articles like this. I don't.

more right wing extremist nattering.

i don't hate MY country, you fool. i don't even "hate" bush, don't like him much, but i don't "hate" him.

i do "hate" some of the things that he and his administration have done and are doing. the president is not "the country", he is a man. my loyalty is to america, not a president and certainly not a party. unlike some i could mention.

hence the republican bullet point, "hate france! they have a short memory!". balogne. read this, it might jog your memory;

The Battle of Yorktown began after the Battle of Guilford Court House on March 15, 1781. At that time, British General Cornwallis moved his battered army to the North Carolina coast, then disobeying orders from General Clinton to protect the British position in the Carolinas, he marched north to Virginia and took command from Loyalist (Tory) General Benedict Arnold. During this same time Washington was planning to attack New York, with the help of the French.

Washington sent his French aide, the Marquis de Lafayette, to Virginia in the spring of 1781 with a few Continental troops, and these were reinforced from time to time until in June when Cornwallis pulled back down the Yorktown Peninsula. Henry Clinton told Cornwallis to send all his men to New York to help attack Philadelphia. However, Cornwallis kept all of his troops, which was about 7,500 , and began fortifying Yorktown and Gloucester, across the York River.

Within five days Washington's plans were abandoned and Washington and French General Rochambeau with 2,500 Continental and 4,000 French troops started their march to Philadelphia when Clinton realized they hadn't planned on attacking New York. Admiral de Grasse with the French fleet arrived at the Chesapeake Bay on August 30, and the British fleet from New York arrived off the bay on September 5.

Following this was an decisive naval battle with the French navy driving off the British fleet. After waiting a few days while the British admirals Graves and Hood went back to New York, Cornwallis was then besieged by a Franco-American force of 16,000 troops. Back in New York the British admirals were deciding on how and when to rescue Cornwallis. Then on October 17th a British fleet finally set out of New York to rescue Cornwallis, but it was too late. Cornwallis was outnumbered, outgunned and was running out of food. He surrendered his army of 7,157 on October 19, 1781.

The surrender of Yorktown ended the fighting in the War for American Independence (American Revolution) in the Americas except for some minor fights in the south. But other battles still went on overseas.

Losses on both sides were light: British and Hessian 156 killed and 326 wounded; French, 52 killed and 134 wounded; American, 20 killed and 56 wounded.

not enough? hmmm, oh yeah, the statue of liberty. sorry, says "made in france" on the bottom.

the righties hatred of france is illogical. the reason has boiled down to rhetoric like, " france does not put america's interests before her own". i have heard it put in nearly the exact words. why would they do that? it's ridiculous to even ask of them.

you and your pals can continue to spin this crap out, but i will say to you again;

america started as a multi-party system and it's going to stay that way. if ya can't deal with it, then leave.

hah!

no... what i'm judging him on is; he took his very young daughter to an event where he obviously meant to start trouble. that is not the much vaunted "family values". at least not the way that i care about my family. what he did is use his very young daughter as a prop in in his pathethic right wing christian passion play.

he's a rat...

yes, you can certainly look at it that way I suppose. Or, you can look at the fact he was involving his family in the political process and allowing them to see how the other side acts when faced with adversity. That way, when they grow up, they will not be under the false pretense that democrats actually care about anything more than their own causes. Despite the front they show.

At least they bother to put a front up, unlike the Republicans, who come right out and tell you that they are unconcerned with the plight of anyone besides the rich...

So you would rather follow a party that lies rather than one that tells the truth?

Do you believe that the Republicans tell the truth? I think it's a false choice, McG, as there are no parties that tell the truth.

Democrats put up a front = they lie
Republicans do not put up a front = they do not lie

thus, my question: Why would you rather follow a party that you know lies to you?

I think that's for Cyclop, no? My position is that I have two viable choices. Both parties lie -- or at least distort -- in order to get into office. I happen to believe that the Republican party has taken it to a whole new level where they not only lie and distort, but deliberately misinform and for the sole purpose of remaining in power and obliterating the opposition.

I've been told my entire life that Democrats want to tax me to death and turn this country into a socialist republic. Guess what, that's bullshit. The Republican platform is based on division -- straights against gays, women against men, families against singles, urban against rural, rich against poor, Christian against scientist, corporation against lawyer, and on and on. That is exactly what I am voting against. I have never been a Democrat, but maybe now I will be.

Whew, I feel like I just took a crap.

Exactly!

Republicans lie all the time. They have mastered spin to a point where it is an art form (can anyone say, 'catastophic success?'). They divide the nation in order to conquer the nation.

I admire them; the tactics they use surely are effective. But that doesn't change the fact that many of our republican leaders are self-serving bastards who could give a damn about anyone besides the rich folks in America.

a four year old??? get out! have you ever been around a 4 year old? they couldn't care less. involving her in the process of scarfing a "happy meal" is more what he should be doing.

sorry, the guy's an obsessive willing to use his own child as a tool in his little crusade.

and btw, republicans really care about the liberal, moderate or progressive pov?

that's a good one, mcg!!! glad to see that the elections aren't hurting your sense of humor..

I have taken my son to vote in every election I have voted in since his birth. I let him pull the lever for the candidate. He looks forward to it and likes to discuss what's going on in the world. He is 6 now.

If we didn't care, why would we waste our time discussing it with you?

okay. that's a good thing. truth be told, my parents started me down the political trail when i was 3. they were big nixon supporters, did volunteer, the whole thing. during the race with kennedy, they brought home a little bowl with 2 goldfish in it for me. i named them nixon and lodge.

both of these scenarios are very much different than the one created by the good mr. p. he took his child along to a "protest" of the opposing party. that is not the same as holding her up to pull the lever and you know it, mcg.

but i am glad that you do care to teach your son how the process works. however he winds up thinking about things, at least you will have taught him to "think".
Very Happy
