And we'll all pay for it and continue to pay for it for decades.
On the Charlie Rose show last night, Zibnew Brzinski—pardon the spelling—said of Bush's foreign policy, "We've divided our friends and united our enemies." Bush was said to be weak in foreign diplomacy before the last election, but who expected the diaster that it is.
I think Maher's comment looks like the rats leaving the ship. I like Maher--sometimes--
I think a lot of people will be following suit--not wanting to be seen on the side of the guy who loses by a landslide.
McG had it right. CYA.
Yes, I'm sure the rats who stay on the U.S.S. Dubya will stay with a ship that's sinking. Many of the people on the Titanic believed it couldn't sink even after it struck the iceberg. Another four years of glug, glug, glug.
If you had a child who went into an operation and the surgon showed up drunk and proceeded to operate on the wrong limb would you :
A) replace the surgon.
B) Tell the surgon to go ahead and repair his own mess.
Not exactly the best metaphor as you've thrown in a zinger. In this case I doubt the surgeon showed up drunk but he did soberly and purposefully operate on the wrong limb (organ seems better than limb).
Is just replacing the surgeon enough?
If he's left to repair the mess will it result in scandal and impeachment?
