Shocked I did? Thought we were talking about seeing the original, which hangs in The Louvre, and then I remember writing that song about Paris, France. Sorry, Olga.

Nah, it's me, Letty! Embarrassed Gone all vague because it's almost 1:30 am, here in darkest Oz. I should be in bed, that's where I should be!
(It's a pity we can't hear your song, Letty ....)

So, before I say good night, I'm encouraging the rest of you folk to post your chosen painting. If you can't post an image then post a link... And if you can't post a link, then tell us about it. One of those options has to suit! Very Happy

OK, then ....

Night night, Letty. That was fun! Very Happy

Night night all!

I have this image on my desktop - I absolutely love it.
The colors are deep and rich and the quality of the water is great. The reflection on the mast is especially evocative of times when I was a kid, laying on a pier, sunning, listening to the water ripple against the piles.

Unfortunately, I can't quite make out the signature, so I'm not sure who painted it.

I'd have to have either a Kurt Jackson or a David Prentice - tough decision!

I have loads of my paintings up - some are permanent and some are destined for galleries/exhibitions and will hopefully sell. I also have work by friends (where we've swapped paintings with each other).

This one is my current wallpaper. I hope it shows up. The preview says it does, but my experiences with posting images has been spotty at best.

I've not had much success with posting images so first I'll see if it shows up before saying why....

Nobody but nobody painted portraits like Sargent; they all amaze me but this is my favorite.

The composition is so relaxed - almost like a snapshot instead of a painting - most painted portraits as so formal.

For a portrait, it has a lot of mystery too.

And tis here is mine. I bought it as a poster few days back, but one day, when I grow up and win a lottery, I'll own it! Or a better car at least.

I'm in a rush this morning, though I would love to linger longer ...

Some very interesting choices here! But hey, as well as showing us you're most loved painting for your wall, I'm just as interested about WHY you made your choice. Even just a few words. That's just as interesting as your choice & also tells us a bit about you as well as your taste in art. Smile

That Sargent could be my pick but I'd be quite the happiest with De Kooning's "Night in Havana." Same basic atmosphere and one would need a BIG wall for either.
