Language and Propaganda - an example

Another phrase they use is "race baiter." Whenever a racist incident is highlighted or protested against it's always blamed on "race baiters" stirring up black people. The narrative being that the only reason race is an issue in America is because of "race baiters," not racists.

You've yet to show any understanding of what irony actually is, which in itself is ironic.

Does anyone wish to speak to the use of "identity politics". It's use is less frequent but not that much less frequent.

Only in the way it seems to have been turned on its head by the right wing who see rights for women, GBLT people and those of ethnic minorities as a threat to their rights.

"All lives matter" is a prime example, white lives have always mattered, they're not disproportionately targeted by police, imprisoned or ghettoised. Black lives haven't really mattered for a very long time. That's why white people need to be reminded that black lives matter too.

This is a thread with a bunch of political ideologues on one side of the political spectrum point out the "propaganda" being used by the ideologues on the other side. This is a very one sided thread. That is what makes it propaganda.

If you can point out the propaganda that clouds your own thinking, isn't that more useful and intellectually honest? There are many ways that the liberal narrative ignores facts, uses simplistic labels and makes misleading argument. Why aren't people here willing to have a balanced discussion.

After all the title of this thread is "Language and Propaganda". The idea that liberals don't use language and propaganda (which one might infer from the posts in this thread) is laughable.

The left has also turned civil rights on it's head by consistently putting the needs of White women over the needs of Black men and women.

In almost every way, White women have been privileged compared to Black men and women. Today White women make more than Black men, they control more wealth, live longer are less likely to be incarcerated. This has been true throughout history. White women have always been privileged compared to any other group.

And yet, liberals put the needs of White women, and the perceived slights of White women above the needs of Black men and women. When you hear about pay equity, they aren't talking about racial inequity.

In this way, the left elite has chosen the issues that relate to them over the issues dealing with real injustice in our society.

Does anyone want to talk about that... or is this really just a dump on conservatives thread?

From the few statistics I've seen, Asians earn the most whether men or women.

Great Cicerone. This is a very good example of how propaganda works, you find a single data point that supports your ideological narrative and ignore the rest. The point is that (as this example shows) liberals do that the same as conservatives do.

Try looking at the statistics for Black or Hispanic men and women vs White Women. See how that changes things.

I think it's pretty obvious that white women earn more than Blacks or Hispanics. We're only talking about "in total." There are many Black professionals and athletes who earn much more than any other ethnic group.

Just to provide another example of how liberals use propaganda, look at what liberals have done to GMOs.

The liberals have an ideological reason to oppose genetically modified crops. They use a set of arguments to demonize them that ignore, and sometimes contradict, scientific fact.

This was an interesting discussion. What came out of Trump's success is the split in the GOP that will last many years into the future. The question is 'how long into the future.'

Were talking political propaganda. The dems. use TRUE facts as propaganda while the republicans seem to believe that their opinion makes their propaganda TRUE fact. But yes they all use propaganda as a tool. One just should never accept the word of either side without googling it for truth. Of course I have found that truth is subjective with some people.

Let's take GMOs for example. Democrats are claiming that these are bad for health, and that they are hurting adjacent farmers using conventional crops. Neither of these things are true.
