Timber,

I was trying not to quibble. We all know that big city Democrat political machines in New York, Chicago, St Louis, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and (surprise !) Miami, have for many years practiced a unique form of ancestor veneration - through perpetual voting.

Without getting all wrapped up in quibbling over partisan differences, I'm not at all surprised to see Mr. Boyne avows his intent to back a sure loser. I'm sure The Dems need a few more Kucinich supporters. In the spirit of fellowship and fairplay, I just sent Denny a contribution, in hopes he'll stay in a while longer. I'm really enjoying the Candidates Circus.

This certainly mustn't be true, but ...
Quote:
In the soon-to-be-published The Faith of George W. Bush (Tarcher/Penguin), a sympathetic account of this religious journey, author Stephen Mansfield writes (in the advance proofs) that in the election year 2000, Bush told Texas preacher James Robison, one of his spiritual mentors: "I feel like God wants me to run for president. I can't explain it, but I sense my country is going to need me. . . . I know it won't be easy on me or my family, but God wants me to do it."

the "circus" all the repubs are taking delight in happens to occur every election year, there is virtually no difference between the dem circus and the repub circus when both are seeking a nomination. seems as though the repubs are fogetting that this year, myopia?

Certainly interesting that Bush the Younger's voicings of faith raise more stir among The Left than did those of Jimmy Carter.

Jimmy Carter was a christian rather than a zealot snake handler, so the only option left for the right was to attack his brother.

I kinda liked Billy. Still have a six-pack of http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:PNTRpdIG2VMC:www.angelfire.com/az2/beercandave/images/Billy.jpg (the cans are empty, now, though)

Interesting too to note that while Carter's brother was a buffoon, and Clinton's brother, Roger, is a B-List musician of richly deserved obscurity, Jeb Bush is Governor of Florida.

as bad as Coors. but cerally Timber (you being as old as I am) must remember the repubs stories about JFK building a tunnel from the White House to the Vatican so the pope could sneak over un-noticed and secretly destoy all the protestants in the US.

As I recall, the beer sucked. I think I used most of it for cooking.

Oh, yeah, I remember the JFK/Papist Conspiracy flap well. It was pretty funny then, too.
Note ... I changed the original image in my earlier post ... the first one was too big for a small joke

pdiddle,

Should we be impressed with James Boyce's business education and his experience as a financial planner, computer instructor, salesman, and "avid public speaker and satirist"? I am not at all impressed with his knowledge of what he so blithely puts out in screeds such as this. He makes numerous illogical connections between factually unrelated phenomena, equally numerous misstatements of readily verifiable facts, and non sequiturs too numerous to bother counting. Mindless rhetoric such as this will likely appeal only to the already converted yellow dog Democrats. As we have recently seen that is not likely to be enough to win an election.

Do you believe all that nonsense? What was your point in posting it? Was it an attempt to persuade the skeptical? Could it have been an attempt at a convincing fact-based argument? Hardly likely !

Be impressed or be unimpressed; I care not which. Sampling his take requires proper citation, even when I include the link. Says so at the bottom. Of the link I provided.

Where's the rebuttal there? Reads like scattershot disagreement, unsupported by anything except your opinion.

Now there's something you obviously know nothing about: Yellow Dogs are born, not converted.

georgeob1 wrote:

Quite right; as we have seen recently, it takes five Supreme Court justices to win an election.

Your ad hominem now aims itself a bit closer to me, and as such, verifies the ineptness of your 'rebuttal'.

You got that right, Timber! Jeb is known to be the more capable brother. If things had gone right, Jeb would have run for the presidency and older brother would assumed his rightful role as the vain, drinkin', useless embarrassment he is!

I have always thought the plan was for Jeb to take over in 2008, after buying the election in 2004.

As I see it, it took five Supreme Court justices to prevent The Dems from stealing an election. And I really don't expect either the electorate or the courts to be any kinder to The Dems over the next year.
