@Thomas33,
No. Not seen that one. When I was watching the cybermen it was quite a bit before all of those.

@izzythepush,
Lost had 50% of a great premise (the flashbacks were silly), but the mythology had great potential (the smoke monster was actually scary); however the show completely lost its way (no pun intended).

I watched Lost. Even when I knew the writers had lost their way, I was greatly interested to see what bullshit would follow next.

@edgarblythe,
Would you agree that the end of season 4 was the show's greatest moment, and that the introduction of time travel damaged the show?
I think Jack wanting to return to the island was the potential for greatness, but the writer's dropped the ball when it was revealed he wanted to return to save others (my impression around S4 was that he wanted to return for spiritual reasons).

@Thomas33,
I think by then I no longer expected a real story.

@edgarblythe,
Did you watch Penny Dreadful?

@Thomas33,
Never heard of it even. If it was on cable, I would have missed it. I only got my cable in December.

@edgarblythe,
I personally think some of the most terrifying images belong to The Conjuring series. I saw the sequel just some days ago and came away thinking it was one of the most powerful movies ever made, having a villain more terrifying than any other.

@Thomas33,
Pretty good stuff, but it only held interest for me for two or three episodes. Pretty gruesome.

@izzythepush,
You were watching the original Dr. Who back in the 70s and 80s? The new series did a fine job of keeping the original spirit of The Doctor and introducing new stories.

What other details can you remember about the scene?
Almost nothing. Just the image of the creepy old woman rocking alone. [shivers]

@Lash,
Penny Dreadful was like Lost by having potential, but it was wasted by overt prejudice; too many characters spoke like they'd majored in philosophy, and too many survived insanely dangerous situations.
Not just that: the show also felt somewhat classist, with more or less all of its protagonists belonging to the aristocracy, or to wealth.

@TomTomBinks,
I was watching it in the 60s. I can't remember too much, but my earliest Doctor Who memory is of William Hartnell's last episode and the transformation to Patrick Troughton.

(I did see Penny Dreadful. I thought it was OK.)

@izzythepush,
The scariest shot of the series is perhaps at the beginning of season 3; a lawyer who's been kidnapped and brought to a derelict building is told to turn around by an unseen force.

@Thomas33,
It wasn't that frightening though. I saw it more as thriller than horror.

@izzythepush,
I really enjoyed that moment with the lawyer, but was very disappointed by how the plot progressed.

@Thomas33,
For me, it was Psycho. I got so scared, I had to walk out into the lobby. It was in Chicago. It was 1960.
