Finding my birth father

Im 16 and trying to find my birth father. I know his name and I think I know where he is approximately. His Name is todd young and left when I was 7. My mom refuses to talk about him and I dont feel comfortable talking about him with her. Looking to reconnect but dont have the money to send someone to search for him. Any suggestions?

So, instead, ask why this is such a painful subject for her? Show some empathy - maybe she was badly hurt by him. This is not for you to pump her for information. Instead, ask about her and her feelings in the matter.

He left us when I was 7. Since then I never saw him again. My mother doesnt want us to meet him because I have a step dad but I really want to find out where he is.
