I could recapture whole posts not all that long ago - when I was looking up some particular thing... the decimation was fairly across the board, but not entirely uniform.

There is something slightly erie about that. It is like walking though a devastated and abandoned city, or returning to a place you once knew and loved to find it not gone completely, still recognizable but in shambles.

Yes, if only I could look back and see how much I have grown over the years, how much more naive and idealistic my ironic jokes about stalking women and killing hitchhikers were then than they are now. Now my jokes about stalking women and killing hitchhikers have a gray streak to them, a touch of the wizened warrior.
Boston.com had still been using the Beehive software as recently as 3 or 4 weeks ago. Now the 3 or 4 travel forums that were slightly active have the same msg as old Abuzz threads.
Interesting that there are ongoing changes with the site and software.
