Request for an improvement work

Please help me improve the following e-mail requesting for an improvement work. Thank you.

Dear Mr. Foulds,

As discussed, we would like to solicit your assistance to conduct a study on improving the lighting system at the Main Plaza. Recently, we have received deep concerns from several public members and the District Mayor about the unstable operation of the lighting system, which see frequent blackouts taking place at the plaza.

In fact, we immediately reported the case to the Technical Division and they, after implementing initial repair on the system by placing temporary power line connecting to the lamp posts before long, assessed that there should be a need to have a thorough improving of the aging lighting system at the plaza.


In view of the significant improvement work cost proposed by the Technical Unit and the Main Plaza having not undertaken any improvement works for years, we should be grateful if you can assist us to conduct a study on improving the lighting system, like by enhancing the power cables, installing the energy-saving bulbs or anything else as you may deem necessary.

Facing the urgency of making a reply to the public members and the District Mayor about the progress of the improvement work, please let me know your feedback on the work and the estimated cost that will be incurred from the work by 17.06.2016. Thank you.
