Where do you draw the line for feeding your dog or cat people food? What kind of food which you give to your dog or cat makes you feel the guiltiest?

@tsarstepan,
I don't feed my dog people food - the only item he gets (that isn't dropped on the floor and he scoops it up before we can) is a little bit of peanut butter.

But that is rare and he only gets a little.

When I had cats - the only people food they would get would be the little bit of tuna with the water that is left from the can.

Other than that we stay away - as cute as they look begging for it - it is so bad for them.

@tsarstepan,
My last cat ate many things that I ate. He liked liverwurst, cream cheese with garlic (he would eat it plain, but went wild for the garlic), stuffed shells in tomato sauce and other items ad well,

My previous cat would fight for anything I was eating. He especially loved bolognese-type sauce and would try to steal it. Chicken was always at risk, too!

The Possum-cat is not quite so keen, but will ask to have a taste. One of his favourites is cheese.

@ossobuco,
One year we had three wild cats on our property. They got to eat the same thing as we did.
In the morning I warmed up some milk - especially in the winter - and they got a piece of bread with liverpate on it, cut in small squares. In the evening they got left overs from our dinner. They loved it - except potatoes. Especially fish with shrimps in lobstersauce.
At the end they were so tame we could take them in our arms - except one of them.

My cats gets get bacon rind, and if we're having roast chicken they get the crappy bits of meat we don't want. Other than that it's cat food, dried in the morning, meat in the evening.
