Kerry can't resist inserting a Nam story.

Why do you suppose we haven't heard from Colin Powell on this topic?

Isn't he supposed to know a little something about atrocities in Nam?

Love it Brand X!

In any other context, everyone would have to laugh at how desperate Kerry is to link himself to Vietnam.

What's next?

"Senator Kerry, what's your favorite snack food?"

"Well, I have to say that's its fried lemon grass. We used to snack on fried lemon grass when we were engaged in fierce fire fights on our Swift Boat in Vietnam. Gosh, I remember those fried lemon grass snacks with fondness."

"Senator Kerry, what's your favorite movie?"

"Well, normally I would have said 'Apocalypse Now,' because, as you may not know, I too was the captain of a Swift Boat in Vietnam, but Michael Moore is now filming a movie about my heroics in Nam called " Kerry of Vietnam," and I just know that will be my favorite."

"Senator Kerry, what's your favorite sexual position."

"Well, you might think it would be one of the Heinz variety of 57 positions, but it's actually the 'Saigon Sling,' which I experienced while on leave from my heroics on a Swift Boat in Vietnam."

When SNL spoofs it, you can send Lorne Michaels a letter of how his show "reeks of desperation."

The only people who can be desperate on A2K are those that fool themselves into believing their virtual musings have the potential for some sort of impact.

Hate to break it to you PuffDiddie, but these virtual musings have virtualy no effect on the real world. (Even, believe it or not, yours! Cool )

ROTFLMAO, try reading what I said. Some war crimes were committed, in every war. The winter soldier war crimes that Kerry testified about were lies.

Can you not understand that?

what kerry testified was that he had been told stories of these things by other soldiers. he testified that he had burned down villages. as ordered. it's no wonder to me that he would consider that an atrocity. how'd you like it if some guys you never saw before came and burned your **** down for reasons you could barely comprehend?

i'm not talking about the creeps that willingly did hide the vc even as we tried to help them, but the ignorant peasants that got caught in the blowback.

how'd you like to be the guy that had to do that? would you enjoy that ? ever hear of post traumatic stress syndrome?

atrocious huh?

and you don't know if the stuff kerry testified to hearing were lies or not.

i'll tell you what i do understand;

i keep asking you questions and to prove your assertions.
but you just come back cracking wise. that's why i can't take you seriously. too bad. i'm not a dem. you like most of the right wingers miss an opportunity to sway me in bush's direction. but you ain't gonna do it with that cosmic debris you're splashing all over the place.

which is why i stopped voting republican in the first place.

that's what i understand.

Because I enjoy it, and it helps me clarify, for myself, my opinion on issues.

It takes a real Narcissist to believe his or her postings have even a remotely measurable impact on the world around us.

But wait...I take that back. Lightwizards incessent A2K commercials for Michael Moore's "Farhenheit 911" probably did boost ticket sales by $20 or $30.

Laura Bush was arrested for prostitution in 1966.

I didn't want to have to make this... er, bring this up. But by making Laura's good qualities a central theme of his presidential campaign, George W. Bush brought this on himself. These allegations deserve a fair and impartial investigation.

A co-worker's brother once knew a guy who used to visit a prostitute in West Virginia in the early 1970s who had an interesting tale to tell. Her name cannot be published here because she fears for her life, but I believe her... or rather, I believe what she told my buddy's brother's friend. It seems that she used to work as a call girl with Laura Welch and at least two other girls in Dallas in 1966 while Laura Welch was enrolled at Southern Methodist University. She said that Laura Welch (who went by 'Pickles' professionally) didn't seem as interested in the money as the kicks. Ironically, their "agent" was a guy named Hap Lenworth who had been a bouncer at one of Jack Ruby's Dallas strip clubs before they were closed following Ruby's 1963 arrest for murder. Lenworth began informally 'promoting' a few of the suddenly unemployed dancers, so Laura Welch's walk on the wild side was one of many odd ripples emanating from the JFK assassination.

The kicker: An influential Washington power broker has told several associates that George W. Bush's strained relations with his father stem in part from a drunken incident approximately a month before George and Laura's November 5, 1977 wedding when the elder Bush tried to steer his son away from Welch (whom George W. had only know for two months at the time), telling George W. of rumors about Laura's past from a family friend from the oil business who had gone on a double date with Laura and another of Hap Lenworth's girls, in 1966.

Now I am not making an accusation, but some people have said these things.

The charges are out there. These are serious charges.

Mrs. Bush needs to answer these charges to put this disturbing story behind us. Indeed, she owes the American people an explanation.

Granted, I'm a writer, and most of my posts are in the word games, English, riddles, music, and original writing forums, so maybe my opinion here is a little different from the norm. But, when I post, I hope that my posts are making someone else's life more interesting in some way; and, if I am very successful, I hope to actually provide a new way of thinking or perspective for, again, someone. If numerous people read, understand, and appreciate what I have said, then I have gone past my expectations. Again, maybe I see things too artisically, but if I can affect someone else's day in a positive manner, then I have made a "remotely measurable impact on the world" in the best way I can, and I will notice that change, as will the people with whom I share my thoughts.

Maybe I am not changing election results or movie sales or anything like that, but I hope that my posts can serve to impact the world somehow, and I can assure you that I am not a narcissist. If anything, I often suffer from an inferiority complex. And, I have resolved to stay out of most political debates, but I still decided to make this post, although I am not furthering the political discussion at all.

how ever, i worked with a dallas/ft. worth girl over here that told me during the last election that "almost anybody in texas could tell ya about dubya making some girl get an abortion, back in the day".

troubling...
