Are the parts in bold OK?

I believe that the size of that Gohonzon was of one that could be kept always close to her no matter what she was doing especially for her children. So there is a possibility that it was of a small size so that she could keep it with her and hold on to it always. [By the way, the Gohonzon is an object of worship in Nichiren Shu Buddhism.]

The above is from a Nichiren Shu magazine. Are the parts in bold OK? It seems they are not the natives' way of expression.

Could someone please show how the parts should be recast? Thanks.

Tang, "was of one that" is okay grammatically but awkward. I might've said, "was such that it"

Instead of "it was of a small size" I would've said, "it was small"

Depending on exact meaning incidentally I might've placed a comma after "doing"

There is nothing wrong with the English used--and i seen no reason to consider it awkward.

Other than being wordy, it's acceptable.

It sounds a bit archaic, as if it were written by a Brit in the late 19th century.
