My teacher said, "I don't have to justify what I have done."

In reported speech, are both answers correct?

My teacher said that he didn't have to justify what he had done.
My teacher said that he did not have a justify what he had done.

Thanks.

@tanguatlay,
Nope.

"My teacher said that he did not have a justify what he had done."" A justify" is wrong. You wouldn't use an article with a verb.

@roger,
Well spotted, Roger.

I was looking at the did not and didn't.
