Alfred Yankovic is the world's greatest rock accordion player, possible the only one. His father was an accordion player, and many times advised his son to do what makes you happy for a living.

Weird Al got his break at age 16 when Dr. Demento decided to play a recording he had made in his bedroom. Here Al gives us a satire on himself.
VIDEO
@Setanta,
did he die? Im all confused cause usually Edgar's in charge of obits
Al made his big break into the big time with a 1981 television appearance on the Tomorrow Show, hosted by Tom Snyder (remember him?). He plays "Another One Rides the Bus" using the tune of Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust."

@farmerman,
I don't think so . . . he's younger than you and i.
Here he parodies one of our favorite cultural trash cans.
VIDEO
@Setanta,
oh, never mind, carry on.
@farmerman,
He does parody "covers "better "than the original prformer. Witness this Taylor Swift song that actually sounds better the way Yankovic does it.

This one is special for you, FM
VIDEO
@Setanta,
My favorite
Didnt he do a porody of Jerry Reed's "WALK ON THE WILD SIDE" (or at lest Marky Mqrks version)
@farmerman,
He could rip off two songs at once, this is one- a- me faves too
VIDEO
Can't find it, Boss . . . but i'm multi-taking right now . . . trying to do two things at once, which is as good as it gets with me.
Here's a 1979 recording of the parody he did of The Knack's release, "My Sharona" from earlier that same year.

It's harder to find a better snapshot of the 2014 - 2016 pop culture landscape. My favorite line is, "Got my new resume; it's printed in Comic Sans!"

@jespah,
Oh yeah, Weird Al takes a scalpel to his world. I had never seen that vid, that's brilliant.
@Setanta,
This has been a really fun way to start off my day!
This parody of The Doors included a performance by Ray Manzarek, and of course, lampoons contemporary society:
VIDEO
@boomerang,
I'm glad to hear it! Even now, it's early in your morning,
n'est-ce pas ?
@Setanta,
I'm a bad sleeper. This was way more fun than the typical relationship drama and political trauma that I wake up to.
I leave one of my faves...
VIDEO
@jespah,
Love that!
Weird Al is my kind of supahstah.
(I really liked Margaret Cho shimmying in there - I've just been learning about her BD work)
@Setanta,
I think this is still my favourite.
