one of my FB friends is a stormchaser / photographer in Raleigh. He's been posting some crazy pix in the last couple of hours.

farmerman posted in the thunderboomer thread that he was shutting down as they were under tornado watch

helluva lot further north than I thought this system was running - must be huge

guess I'll look at the storm map again

warning's expired, back to severe t storms and we are just about through them. Tornado watch still extant till 11PM though. its like 63 degrees F outside--weirrd warm.

We had some hail so it was a working cell in a huge line squall tht extended from NC into N New Jersey now.
Damn thing was moving at 70 mph to the NE.

We expect these every so often in the early spring an then the late summer, but late winter??
