So ok, I saw the title for this thread and realized I had no quick and easy answer, so, I have pondered over this question constantly and now, at last, have an answer--Mormonisn is the one true religion after all nothing so ridiculous could be totally wrong. In second place we have baptists.

If my information is correct, the Mormons at one time denied blacks any place in their church hierarchy. Don't know if that's true any more or not. But I remember a girl from Hawaii that my friend fixed me up a date with; she was the most beautiful woman I have ever met and dated. She was a Mormon, and I was ready to change my religion. Wink

Mark Twain once observed he had given some thought to possible benefits to be derived from a polygamous society. In the interest of further pursuing the notion, he said, he undertook a visit to Utah. His conclusioon, following his fact-finding junket, was that "anyone marrying more than one of those Mormon women was doing the rest of us a favor".

OK, so I can understand if you don't believe in Christianity...

What in hell is that supposed to mean?

Do you think we do not guess Christianity exists?

No...I think you are an infection...a virus, if you will...polluting our country and the rest of the world.

That our planet and humans are just a lucky roll of the dice so to speak??

Aha...so in that last poorly written, ambiguous sentence...the "we" refers to humanity rather than you Christians.

Let me give you the definitive answer to that question, John...and I hope you take it to heart:

WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO GODDAM IDEA OF HOW ALL THIS...THIS UNIVERSE AND EXISTENCE....CAME INTO BEING....OR IF IT EVER DID COME INTO BEING AND HAS SIMPLY ALWAYS BEEN.

WE DO NOT KNOW!

And your laughable guesses that involve the cartoon god of the Bible....really are a pathetic guess as to how it all came about.

But like the others in the forum....I am delighted that you are here....and I hope you continue to participate in the discussions. You seem like a reasonable, albeit misguided, person.

hey, I learned this stuff in the boyscouts hehe

If you think its OK to call me a fool, why don't i just point out that you are a total goddamned idiot, who relies on the horseshit they fed you in boyscouts. The grown ups here don't fall for that horseshit, but it doesn't surprise me that you do.

Frank, I guess you have never heard of teens on death row... it still happens today in the US.

Frank, surely you don't expect RexRed to have a point? He's been in these fora for months, and hasn't made a sustainable point yet. You must lack experience of his "style."

Everything he knows, he learned in the boy scouts.

And to think...he could not be a boy scout leader!

Amazin'....his god wants him stoned to death and the scouts think he'd taint the organization.

Absolutely amazin'!

I speak highly of the education I have received in the Bible... reading and studying it every day and knowing the true God within is the greatest form of learning available.

Therefore my "point" is only as sharp at the word that I stand upon.

My do you err in your logic...

Would I favor the same death penalty that crucified Jesus Christ?

Do you not see what the Bible is teaching? That the same "penalty" that rids the word of evil can take from us also the most innocent...

How you can be so insensitive as to not see the ineptitude of you own quandary.

Now think on these words, and make your own point from them...

And you seem like an angry, bitter, grumpy old bastard. I didn't claim to know anything but you seem to "know" that there is no God and have no problem ridiculing anyone that doesn't agree with you. Let me point something out, you can't prove that this so-called cartoon God doesn't exist, but when you can then maybe I'll listen to your hateful rants.

JC, You're the one that seems angry. Frank never claimed to know that there is no god. You must learn to know the meaning of "agnosticism." He only redicules those who claim to "know" there is a god.

I can't believe all the BS that's been Piled higher and Deeper here since my last post.

What amazes me is that almost every one of you has some valid point to make, but y'all are so afraid to admit the other fellow might have some smarts, y'don't pay attention. Y'just leap on yer bandwagon a'cussinand accusin.

It is an undeniable and lamentable fact that organized religion has been behind nearly every abomination known to humankind. Priests have conspired with kings to deliver their 'sheep' to the service of the state, no matter what that service might mean to the life, liberty and limb of the individual.

That does not mean there is no God; nor does it relieve us of our responsibility towards Him.

I was taught things as a scout, and some things were good and some I did not agree with...

I was also born again of the gift of God... and not nothing can "taint" the "holy" spirit within me...

1Pe 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible [seed] the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

What spirit/seed do you have Frank?

You appear to have the spirit of ignorance...

Frank "knows" that no one else can know... thus he cancels out his own contribution due to a double standard and a double negative... Frank thinks because he closes his eyes everyone else must do the same...
