The bible was written much much longer than two thousand years ago.
There is no good evidence other than the assertion of religious people with an obvious bias toward seeking authority on the basis of mere age, that the documents in question were written down any earlier than 2500 years ago--so you're splitting hairs. Prior to the Babylonian captivity, the Hebrews used what is known as Israelite script. Only fragments of Samuel and Judges exist in that script from the pre-captivity period. Much of Genesis and many of the ideas embodied in later chapters are inferentially taken from other traditions to which the Hebrews were exposed during and after the captivity. The "old testament" does not appear in entirety until after the captivity when the Hebrews began using Hebraic script. A later revival of Israelite script has lead religious charlatans to claim an older provenance, but distinct differences in the pre-captivity Israelite script and the revival script give the lie to that claim. All in all, its a pretty shakey foundation upon which to base absolutist claims.
People here complain all the time at how religious people are treated, and the remarks made about "their god" and their beliefs. Given the historical penchant which the religious have shown for shoving their beliefs down the throats of others, and their continuing insistence on having the cobbled together mythologies of the ancient middle accepted as "revealed truth," i personally consider such objections ludicrous and more than a little disingenuous.
