You know the polio vaccination took years to perfect and many many failures happened along the way.

Should the dismal track record of developing a polio vaccination have deterred people from trying.

(I just used polio as an example, any scientific discovery, medical or otherwise, was a result of many errors)

Poor example. Did we give people polio on purpose so we could experiment on them?

I'm not commenting on the legal or theological implications; just what would you say?

"****, that sucks. Sometime life hands you lemons."
To which Clonus might well respond "I can't!"
Then what would you say?

god in general is a noun and is not capitalized. Our Lord God is a proper name and is capitalized. When the word he is used it is used the same as God and, therefore, is capitlized as He. If that is going to be a point of discussion rather than the topic at hand then you will never find the answer to the original questions.

This is just plain wrong.

George W. Bush is a proper name and is capitalized.

When the word "his" is used in the following sentence it is used the same as George W. Bush. When I say, "Bush is a moron, and so is His god." I should not capitalize "his" (the only reason I did is to show how stupid it looks).

As far as staying on topic, have you read this entire thread? There have been dozons of sub-topics; this is just another one.

Do you have a problem with reading comprehension? I said He is a synonym for God... what does George Bush have to do with it? Can you prove that I am wrong?

"The end of religion is foretold in the bible. Did you know that?"

Future discoveries by scientists will eventually refute everything in the bible. It's ironic that christinans believe everything the bible says, but that's another mistake of the bible that will be refuted, because there will always be some form of "religion." Buddhism doesn't rely on gods; it's about the self. Buddhims, taoism, confucianism are all religions that are not based on some omnipotent god, and they will survive long after the christian god is laughed out of existence.

I would rather capitalize my H's than talk in pure superlatives...

refute "everything"...

Christians believe "everything"...

There will "always" be some form of...

Buddhism doesn't ("ever") rely on gods...

Buddhism, taoism, confucianism are "all" religions that are...

Is it not suggested in 5th grade grammar to avoid superlatives?

1) GWB has nothing to do with it, just an example for my point.

2) You never said it was a synonym for god. You said it is used the same as god, which is EXACTLY the way a pronoun is used. A pronoun is used the same as the original noun.

3) It is not proper grammer. It's not my job to prove it to you, you're the one using improper grammer.

Those three actualy apply. They're all basically true, if we don't get nitpicky. His first two are a bit superlative though.

JUST his name? Nothing else?

My gardener is named Jesus, am I saved by his name too?

The king James translators when the word "Spirit" seemed to refer to God it would be capitalized. If it referred to the "spirit" in humans it would not be capitalized.

Also with the word "lord"... In some places it is translated "LORD" and some places "Lord" and some places "lord"...

Very simply it was to emphasize God...

In some places the translators may have erroneously supplied the capitalization of words and letters.

Frank what side of HIStory will you be on?

Will you be like Peter and deny Jesus 3 times twice?
Will you be like Judas and betray Jesus with a kiss?
Will you be like Pilot and wash your hands of Jesus?
Will you be like Herod and demand a sign?
Will you make Jesus carry your own cross?
Will you be like the people and spit in his face?
Will you crucify him?
Will you nail accusations above his head?
Will you offer him vinegar?
Will you be like Thomas and doubt him?

I've denied Jesus more than "3 times twice" already, so yes.
Not into kissing dudes, so no.
I assume this is figurative, so yes.
I've demanded many signs, and have yet to receive any, so yes.
I will carry no cross, so no.
I would not spit in anyone's face literally, figuratively maybe.
No, I'm not into murdering anybody.
I would nail MANY accusations above his head. Millions maybe.
Why? Is Jesus doing some baking?
I would doubt Jesus so much that Thomas would be embarrassed.

I don't know what side of history that puts me, but there you have it.

Are you suggesting I do the same. Please speak with a point. Your quoting of scripture means nothing to me. Do you have any thoughts of your own?

Rex...

...the Christian mythology is laughable.

The Christian god is even more laughable.

If it makes you feel better to indulge yourself in this mythology...do it. Some people do that same thing with Santa Claus. They are called children; you folks are called sheep.

Except that I consider the latter to be a minor insult to sheep...I guess that pretty much sums it up.

Conserve sound, since it is the treasure of the element space an emanation from God Himself. Reason can prevail only when arguments are advanced without the raising of voices. Silence is the speech of the spiritual seeker. Soft, sweet speech is the expression of genuine love. Hate screeches, fear squeals, conceit trumpets. But, love sings lullabies, it soothes and calms. Practise the vocabulary of love and unlearn the language of hate and contempt.
