I just start to work in a company as a tax preparer for couple of months. I need to go to a family member ' s wedding in Japan. It's a long distance flight. How bad if I took one week off during tax season?
Ask your boss. It's a (presumably) once in a lifetime thing.
But is this a destination wedding? Because if it's not, unless it's your wedding, most employers during the busy season are not going to buy you taking a week off.
The wedding is in Japan, that's why I need a week. Thank you for your reply.

We can only guess, you'll have to ask your employer. But if you want my guess they will take a very dim view of the situation, possibly to the point of reconsidering your employment.
