hi , my question is why don't we often use past perfect continues in negative form? besides will you name some cases when we use past perfect continues in negative form ?

We do use it pretty often, I think.

I hadn't been sitting on the llama five minutes before it caught on fire.

I hadn't even finished drinking my coffee when the cops arrived.
