@bobsal u1553115,
I am sorry to be the one to tell you this bobsal but being misinformed is not just a malady suffered by Fox viewers. Watching the news, any news really in America makes you more likely to be misinformed about everything and anything that is of any importance. Journalism is hard to come by these days. Just like politicians, no matter what party your affiliated with, have become celebrities in the entertainment field rather than public servants with ethics and integrity, journalists have found that they enjoy putting on a good show better than what their real responsibilities are supposed to be. Journalists used to be the watchdogs for the people and took the time to seriously check their facts, ask hard questions that demanded concrete answers when a politician would try to use vague but eloquent prose mixed with a little dramatic theatrical delivery to disguise the fact that they don't really have a good solution or answer to an important issue that the American people are especially concerned about because their lives are being impacted in some way, usually negatively. That was when our journalist would stop the show even though it may have been funny or controversial they weren't afraid take on the boring persona in order to push for a less flamboyant and more to the point response. So they didn't get to shine and have as much fun as they would have liked to but they did keep Americans more informed to the best of their abilities. They also weren't really welcomed to party it up alongside the politicians and wall street crowd all that much. Most were viewed as the enemy, the killjoy, the tattle tale and what politician and corporate lobbyist needs someone like that around ruin the fun their voters probably frown on them for having in the first place. These days and for quite some time now "journalists" have decided the hell with ethics let the politicians act and argue and entertain and lets us make the news about us doing the same about what they may or may not have said or meant or whatever. Facts are boring anyway plus we get to go to the parties and have fun now. Let the people figure the truth out themselves or not. As long as their getting a show from us and the politicians they won't even notice or care because their having a good time and isn't that what Democracy is all about anyway. They'll show up to vote and campaign even if their working 3 jobs and still can't make ends meet because were that funny!! And so now this is what we have. Misinformed Americans who still show up and cheer on the entertainer of their choice even though both sides have betrayed us over and over and over again and we even give what little time we have after working jobs that make us no money to answer phones and trudge through sloppy cold wet weather to try to get them elected so they can screw us over again. Some of those days of trudging are sunny and nice but really makes little difference to the reality that Americans in general are misinformed and easily manipulated no matter who's doing it or what news channel they watch. I don't know where you got your info from. Unfortunately because the people you got the info from believe that they can take some poll and come up with accurate and factual data on the subject they are just as misinformed as the Fox viewers their claiming are more misinformed.
After the bailout in 2008 happened and no one in the American media really spent too much time concentrating on it at all. A quick negative comment might go by but their was always a dancing bear or skateboarding squirrel to report on. FOX and MSNBC did however give the bailout loads of time but only because their opinion oriented no facts to back anything we say up format loved the dramatic and comedic material it offered them. Of course when the 99% took over Wall Street to protest the bailout and the governments close relationship with Wall Street big wigs much more criticism was given to the protesters who did in fact have jobs if they could find them. It took reporters from places like Finland and Scotland to get in their and find out that these were not lazy people looking for handouts but many were employed and an MTV documentary showed a group of coworkers who worked in shifts while the others stayed behind with their kids to continue protesting and then would go to work themselves after the others returned and took over. Our media wasn't technically allowed to go in very far, but MTV also showed that they weren't exactly fighting to get in anyway. There were no Woodward and Bernsteins to be found for America. Yes American media personnel ALMOST everywhere now know that the BESTEST and FUNNEST parties aren't thrown by "We the people" so we don't need to know the truth anymore. Not as badly as our once noble journalists need to work for the top 1% and their hired free market government so they can be rich, beautiful privileged celebrities too. Ethics and integrity just can't compete with unlimited luxury I guess.
