For some reason, I could do with a baked alaska and some apple juice.
I've not had that combination for eight years.
No whiskey for me Thok, thankyouverymuch. Maybe I deserve gin and IPA. hmmmm
thok : since you do not care for cav's headcheese, would you prefer a nice 'beuschel' ? when we were in vienna in the fall of '82, i had a tasty 'luxus-beuschel' in a very nice restaurant on mariahilfer strasse; actually went back again in our third week for some more beuschel and a cool, dark beer. hbg
Gawd you're making me hungry
panzade : you might loose your appetite if you knew what 'beuschel' is - thok might prefer headcheese after all, given a choice. i'll wait to see if thok will provide a translation since it's a viennese dish - if not, i'll explain tomorrow. hbg
I'll have to remember not to read Hamburger's next post.
Good idea. I operate a strict rule; three headcheeses, and you're out.
littletek : i've eaten it and i'm still alive (confirmed by the family physician this morning - still feeling fine). hbg
OK, maybe I'll read your post, but just not directly after a meal.
I figure this is the best place to come for a hangover cure?????
Um, hangover cure - five in the morning at local bar in Siena, we see workman stopping in for a quick shot of grappa before the day gets going.

yes, but it is not only a viennese dish , also a bavarian. :-)
It is roast from the loung and heart of the calf with acid cream dressing and bread dumpling. All this is flavored .
that's with a typo, it means unglaublich ;-)
All those intellectual bi-linguals here ...
yes, that's impressive. :-)
Even stranger...a chance meeting with Deb!
Vielen dank! - I think.....
