One thing I cannot stand is weak coffee. I have a name for that - "crayon coffee", as if someone had simply swirled a brown crayon in hot water. Here's something you can put under your hat, you can easily dilute strong coffee, buy you cannot easily make bad wimpy coffee stronger.
Poorly made wimpy coffee actually upsets my stomach more than a properly made strong brew. Starbucks makes a very good cup of coffee, as a reference point.
Hmm. Wonder if the acids in coffee dissolve into water faster than the "good stuff."
NERD ALERT! NERD ALERT!
Gotta go get my coffee. 9:00 already. There's no sense of humor without my oil...
The second thing I do upon getting up in the morning is have coffee, black no cream or sugar. The coffee maker is set on automatic and it is always ready when I go into the kitchen.
Let me guess - is the third thing you do the same as the first?

No I only brush my teeth once in the morning!
heehee
I keep buying bigger and bigger mugs for my coffee. I always say I only have one cup of coffee a day, but it's a BIG cup....
I finally weened myself off lattes when I go to espresso joints, because they're just too dang milky. I opt for an Americano now. I hope to attain straight espresso status one of these days...
when i worked at children's hospital, every morning was "quadruple espresso, marionberry muffin" at cheap little place on the way. mmmmmmmmm.....
A quadruple espresso? Dude, I'm impressed!
In our workshop we keep a pot of coffee going all day. I'm a tea drinker and rarely drink coffee, but I have tried this stuff once or twice. I put 1cm in the bottom of the mug, and filled the rest with hot water, and it was STILL too strong. The boss and a couple of others drink it full strength. It's got me beat how. I kept expecting the the spoon to just stand up straight in the middle of the cup. Either that or dissolve.
Put a cm in a mug and add water? Whatever that is you're drinking, wilso, it ain't coffee.
Like many here, I take my coffee straight black and with a handful of Marlboros.
Before bed, I'll have a chai-tea latte with a shot of espresso, which explains why I'm still up at 6...
And at work, especially when I'm hung-over (see: all the time), I'll take a quad-shot iced mocha and chug it right before the rush.
(Why do I expect the Aussies to put a fried egg in their coffee?)
The problem with espresso is that there's just not enough of it. I like a leisurely hot beverage in the morning. Americanos work, so do capucinos, but my fav way to displace milk is with chocolate. My number-one favorite treat (don't have them often) is a double mocha with about 2/3 the usual amount of milk.
