												Well, sorta kinda no not really.  Ensure is not a good verb to use.  It carries the connotation of performance to a standard--it refers to conscious human activity.  "Assure" might be better, given that the reference is to natural cause and effect.  "Locks in" does mean that something is more or less inevitable.
