You need an indefinite article before the word authorial, or add a definite article and also get rid of the word 'one'. To wit -

Her interest in animals, however, extends beyond an authorial one.
Her interest in animals, however, extends beyond the authorial.

"on track" is an idiom, and it doesn't use the definite article:
