Okay when i am with his friends he acts like i am not there but when it is just him and i he talks to me and today he asked if i had a good weekend and we give each other a hug. when we are alone. he will not hug me when he is with his friends. btw we are both males

Sounds like he's not comfortable expressing affection publicly, but to be sure - you will have to ask him.
