Just watched The Good Shepherd it is literally the most boring, sleep inducing tedious film of all time.

If this is DiNero's first go at directing we can only pray to god that he doesn't do another Confused

@lovejoy,
It's De Niro's second shot at directing. He's responsible for another dullard of a film, A Bronx Tale.

@tsarstepan,
SAw "Righteous Kill" with Deniro and Pacino. You figured it out shortly after the crimes were committed. Each guy tried outdoing the other. Waste of time for me.

@farmerman,
That's been on cable and I've avoided it -- probably will never see it. Don't like the title, don't believe just a pairing of those two great actors can always mean a great movie and it's been done in 1995's "Heat" with excellent results. Trying to top that with a still wet-behind-the-ears director, Jon Avnet, whose forte is still hour scripted TV dramas -- "Boomtown" and "The Starter Wife," against Michael Mann is fruitless.

"The Good Shepard" is a snooze inducing movie in broad daylight. I didn't make it past the first hour.

I brought home Desparado, simply because I have heard so much good about Antonio. Jebus Crisco. After about ten minutes, maybe fifteen or twenty, I zonked out. When I woke up I shut it off.

@edgarblythe,
Desparado was such a wasteful and unnecessary Hollywood exercise of a sequel to the remarkably low budget/stunning film debut of Robert Rodriguez, El Mariachi.

Wow! This thread has been going on forever! I need to read it all . . . when I have about three weeks!

That said, I can not resist adding . . .any disaster movie to me is boring. I was dragged kicking and screaming to Speed, about a run away bus, and to WaterWorld and The Postman. Has anyone noticed that Kevin Costner walks into doorways in every movie he makes?

Face Off was both boring and ridiculous.

The Last Emperor lasted as long as the Chinese empire and was as boring as listening to 20 hours of a language you don't speak.

I also agree with the person who said porn is boring. Sex in movies becomes interesting when it is between two characters you care about while humping is just that . . . watching dogs is more interesting.

@fbaezer,
But, 10 with Bo Derek . . . who always put her hands in front of her mouth before speaking . . . was awful. THe only good thing about the movie was the poster.

A few (very few) of the movies mentioned on this thread are among my favorites. Two off the top of my head are Dr Strangelove and Titanic.
