Given the harsh treatment and lack of guidance and support at home, the child is drawn to other delinquent youngsters in the community. Ultimately, they consolidate their interests in the formation of gangs. The gang members have the same disposition to see themselves as right and other people as their opponents or enemies that they possessed prior to joining the gang. Hence, the gang reinforces a sense of victimhood and, at the same time, provides moral support and justification for fighting the perceived enemies.
