Usage of "that" in this sentence

Both sentences are fine.

They're both fine, but I perfer the use of conjunctions, though, because they tend to lessen ambiguity.

Why use "would"? It's redundant. And I'd prefer which to that.

But simpler is better in my book. So,

"there are a few minor guidelines you have to remember", (unless there's a conditional element in the wider context).

Yeah, I agree. "Would" is superfluous there.

Unless, as McTag pointed out, there's a conditional element in the context.

Read that way, "would" would be necessary and not superfluous.
