2015 Tropical storms and hurricanes

This rain we've been getting lately (and for the last 2-3 weeks) has been unusual but no connection to any hurricane, TS, or Erika remnants. However, once the storm gets past Cuba today, it can get reorganized again due to the 86+ deg temps of the Gulf waters. That hot water is like fuel to the storm even though it's pretty disorganized right now.

We're expected on Monday night/Tuesday to get 3+ in here in Sarasota....and that is on top of a well saturated ground. Down by Myakka River State Park, 25 miles south, they've been at flood stage for 2-3 weeks.

Myakka is a sure fire flood zone Rags.
Our sea-side gig got cancelled today but other than that it's just been a succession of rain squalls.
I feel very lucky.

I'm on the phone with my pal Anthony in St Pete, he said their having a monsoon and his entire neighborhood is flooded.

I remember a few days like that when I lived there, one of the things I do miss about St. Pete is the thunder showers.

Woke up to intense heat and sunshine...St Pete's had the soggiest August in memory.

Oops - our friends and neighbours went on holiday today - they flew out to the Cape Verde Islands for a couple of weeks to escape the awful summer we're having in England!
