This rain we've been getting lately (and for the last 2-3 weeks) has been unusual but no connection to any hurricane, TS, or Erika remnants. However, once the storm gets past Cuba today, it can get reorganized again due to the 86+ deg temps of the Gulf waters. That hot water is like fuel to the storm even though it's pretty disorganized right now.
We're expected on Monday night/Tuesday to get 3+ in here in Sarasota....and that is on top of a well saturated ground. Down by Myakka River State Park, 25 miles south, they've been at flood stage for 2-3 weeks.
