This thread impregnated with rampant 'sexism', and stereotyping, could use a breath - no - a cyclone of fresh air.
Those of any sex who buy mindlessly into the "bill of goods" being marketed by society, are setting themselves up for being the emotionally disenfranchised 'older generation'. In their 'mature' years, having never realized the wealth of 'rewards' that were promised, for 'towing the line' and 'singing the song', embittered, they look back 'frozen' into the idealized past, and dance out their days to the 'good old songs'.
While those who evaded the assembly line production of 'lifestyle' continue their love affair with reality, living, and learning, and loving.
It has nothing, whatever to do with the sexual label on the back of the 'skin' that you are in!

Label!
I've got a label?
Shocked

I'm sorta with ya, Bo. I know more than a handful of the hidebound, stale 50+ crowd - but they aren't sorted by gender. They were hidebound men and women when I met them in their teens, twenties and thirties.

The ones that were lively and challenging and interested in the world then are the same now.

I went to my (female) neighbour's 80th birthday party yesterday. Other than the gender inequality caused by a lot of fellas dying younger, there was as much evidence of wild and crazy in the male 50+ crowd, as the female.

Laughing Animals are said to have a calming, soothing effect on people, Walter .... They bring cats & dogs to elderly peoples' homes here for that very reason. I take it your dog is kept very busy in your group?

I think I like this place. Wink

Walter ~ that's quite a dapper group!

BPB ~ I'll have to remember to watch out for you. Smile

Now...I never said the men were helpless...oh no, far from it.
It's just that the men that I'm familiar with (including a couple that I've been very familiar with lately), are immovable in some areas. Sex is
not one of these areas. They are perfectly willing to experiment and try new things there!
However, I find that when they're 'done' they revert back to their
usual m.o.

But, I haven't given up hope yet!

Hmm; in my case one lifts the scrotum "gently" (preferably with carefully chosen assistance) and looks under (easier to say than do)!
I had to remove mine - it itched like crazy (and the part about used recycled material, was ...........embarassing!). Shocked

Now in your case (this is going to get a mite 'sensitive'!)
maybe we should defer to "IM"ing?? Rolling Eyes

It is not true completely. One of my uncles used to do nothing at home when he still had his wife. No cleaning, no cooking, no washing up, nothing for the family.
Then suddenly her wife died from cancer, well at the age of 57, with one teenager to look after he learnt to cook, to clean, to wash up all to run a family. He stopped going for pubs etc. I think it was very hard for him, but the necessity made him a better man, maybe. It depends on circumstances if a man or a woman can change their way of thinking.
