Kitty sitters? What nonsense. I sit for a friends cats fairly often, and have for the past four years. They don't need or want intruders in the house, and won't show their smiling faces in any case. Just leave lots of kibble and water, and hit the road.
Honest, Misti, Paddy isn't going to starve just because there isn't someone around to pet him while he eats. Bigdice was right, of course. He's a nucking fut.

The reason we're not going is because a new refrigerator is being delivered on Saturday, and Rae is on call at work!

Ahem, there are things that one must do to achieve a balance in life, one of which is stuff like refrigerating food, working to keep the food comin' in and hoping that there will be something left over for the Paddy's and Lacey's of the world.
Thanks Letty, you're right, and after last week's delivery being foiled, we're going to try again, but if we had gone to Diane's I would just have postponed the fridge.

The weather in Germany? Gorgeous! We have a very lovely spring with temperatures almost like in summer. People were sitting outside at the bar across the street until midnight last night. I go rollerblading almost every day after work. I still miss the ocean, the palmtrees and - above all - you guys, though!
Hi Urs, glad to hear you're enjoying your nice weather and your springtime which is something we hardly experience here because we go from our winter directly into summer!
Well I'm not complaining because when I saw the weather tonight there have been tornadoes, floods, and all kinds of adverse weather conditions throughout the midwest and across the bible belt. It's bad!
I'd rather have your winter! But this here spring's very nice so far, and the number of my posts will dwindle as the temperature rises!

I don't know 'bout you guys, but I see this thread as my/our personal direct connectpage! Dunno about you guys, but I figure some of you usually ends up looking it up everyday, I know I do!
Since we got back, I've been telling a gazillion of my guests about the trip, and also about the gathering. People has been absolutely stupified to hear that me and urs has been meeting people that we've never met before!
"You know, there is this here forum where we're members, and we sorta decided to get together... and so we did just that..." GASP!!! Some people can't just develop new horizons I guess.
I've also been telling them that our next big vacation is gonna be Fla. again, and people just shake their heads...

bigdice67- You came as a couple. A lot of us came as singles. How do you think that WE felt. If it turned out to be a dud, you two would have at least had each other.
Personally, I was so excited about the whole thing beforehand, that I didn't even consider the negatives then, and I am glad I didn't. It turned out to be one of the most delightful few days that I have ever spent.
When are you two coming again? I'll bet we could get even MORE people next time!
